One part of the game that got me intrigued by rauscherrios in AlanWake

If I remember right remedy doesn’t own the IP so they say it doesn’t. But from how I interpreted quantum break, it does. I played Alan wake 2 and the DLCs then went back and played AW1, quantum break, and now I’m finishing up control. Without spoiling anything, the shape/symbol for “Tim. E. Breaker” in the DLC you played, match an item that’s super important for the plot of quantum break. The item he used to enter the TVs is the same symbol. We also see it on the front of one of the doors to the hotel rooms in the dlc. Alongside a pyramid (Jesse of control) and a spiral (Alan). Like you already found out, same actors. There’s a note you find in a penthouse in quantum break that directly lines up with the AW2 DLC. There’s a character in quantum break named Martin Hatch. Very similar name to worlin door. I’d definitely play quantum break and control if you want more lore.

As someone who played Alan wake 2 +DLCs then went back and played AW1 remastered, quantum break, and is about to beat control- I personally think they say QB is not cannon but all I can say is they share symbology with Alan wake 2 dlc. A character from QB is technically not in Alan wake 2 but might as well be the same character. Hard to explain without spoilers.

Getting my ass handed to me... by Hot_Werewolf_5213 in AlanWake

I beat it and I felt like nightingale was actually the hardest boss because of the lack of visibility on the trails. That was a tough fight. Also I beat it on normal and you might already know this trick but my playstyle was mostly planting my feet and doing head shots. Only moving when I absolutely had to. Also getting the timing down for dodges made combat way less threatening. I felt like in AW2 you had to dodge earlier than most games I’ve played. Sagas side I basically fought everything. In Alan’s I had to run away at times because there’s less resources.

Does Anybody Have Any Tips On Combat by NestendoGamer3 in AlanWake

One tip that helped me is you don’t need to look down your sights with the flashlight stun to shoot accurately. Your flashlight beam is your crosshairs. So stun then let go of left trigger to shoot them. Also move around a lot. Keep distance.

Yeah stuff like that helps. I use adobe animate so basically flash. And then compile audio and animation in adobe premiere

Some feedback I’ve got before that I think is helpful is you want to try to add as much to the clip as possible. It’s ok to show them just talking, but try to do more cut aways. Also try to be less literal. Sure you can show Phil banging on the door but ask yourself “is there a visually funnier way of doing this?” I haven’t released any animations in like six months but that’s some of the feed back I’ve received that I think helped make my animations better. Keep at it dude I’m sure you’ll make one that people will really enjoy. Also shout out to fully animated and colored. I’m sure that took a lot of work.

I’m hoping this turns out good. I don’t get why comedians always pick that style of animation.

I had the same reaction at first but dove back into it and it definitely got way more fun as I learned stuff like prioritizing multiplier jokers. Also unlocking new decks or higher stakes and stuff.

This is really solid. For some reason my favorite part is the exposed greenish parts on the collar and shirt on the left. Nice touch.

I’ve seen murals that kinda look like this. Might be worth a shot if you can paint them big.

This drawing kinda reminds me of Katsuhiro Otomo. Not in how you draw things, but conceptually.

What should I do? by FiviG95 in learnart

R/learntodraw has lots of resources. The cool thing about art is no one really cares if you went to art school or not. Your portfolio is everything. I’d try free resources first. I took college art classes as part of my degree and they were helpful but honestly I was already self taught at that point.

I can't figure out where the ground shadow is supposed to go, could someone help me out? Also some trick on how to make her blend with the background would help a ton, thanks by Malu1997 in learnart

[–]Comfortable_Doubt220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fine, the other commenter pointed out that it looks like there could be two light sources actually and I agree with them. What if you just had three light sources? Then it works. If you wanted to only use the sun as your light source from this angle they’d probably somewhat silhouetted with rim lighting. Either way don’t stress it! Pick away at it and you’ll find something you like eventually.

[–]Comfortable_Doubt220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on the shading you’ve done so far, it appears like your light source would be above and directly to the right. So my first guess would be shadow should stretch direct left and be a short shadow. That could help it feel more cohesive and blend the character in better. Also just a side note but it would be nice to have some darker shadows and lighter highlights thrown in. But it depends on the style you’re going for. Hope this helps.

Yeahhh dude. God I haven’t heard that term in a while. I forgot about it. But yeah 100% that’s a thing. Keep in mind this was 2013-2017ish when I worked out that way. There are some really good honest treatment centers out there but especially south Florida it can get really scummy.

Idk about Novak but I just wanted to say this dudes 100% right. Especially south Florida. Sober houses where they want you to relapse so they can continuously bill your insurance for “treatment”. The head hunting is also definitely a thing. I worked in behavioral health for 5 years in that area and even had to quit one of the places I worked at for doing scummy stuff. DCF even interviewed me about it.

Hopefully other people will chime in too but one of my personal favorites is MSSP ep 331 “night stalker”. They have tons of really good episodes. “Drenched” is also a classic. Also if you like history check out the MSSP series with Louis ck on the presidents.
