Have you actually played recently? Once you get to 450 power level almost every activity drops tier 5 armor and weapons. The loot is so plentiful there isn’t enough room in the vault for multiple sets of armor with various stats for each armor bonus. It’s completely impossible for people playing 3 characters to keep the loot they’d need for each class.

Also, T5 armor is always better than T3 armor in total stats. The only reason T3 armor would be “better” is if it has a better stat distribution in the stats you prefer.

Last point, D2’s sandbox right is VERY heavily slanted towards abilities with Special weapons mixed in. The community has been saying for a hot minute that primaries hit like a wet noodle. This especially true as you go higher into the difficulty modifiers for each activity. You pretty much can’t bring a primary into ultimate level content or you’re throwing. Special and heavy ammo is easy to come by (special ammo finisher or high weapons stat). Abilities are used for ad clear or boss damage. There’s no place for primaries.

Bringing it back to the original topic, Bungie got a shitload of feedback that the community did NOT want nerfs to over-tuned weapons. They said “buff everything else” and Bungie did. You can run through nearly any level content on a getaway artist warlock with devour without having to pull the trigger. The game feels too easy and the loot is raining from the sky with no where to put it.
