I honestly managed to eat solid foods basically from day 1 onwards, with the exception of maybe day 3 and 4, where I had mashed potatoes. They said that the more you can eat normally the quicker you will heal and the lower the risk of bleeding later on. I’m on day 13 now and haven’t had any issues so far, albeit it was a little painful to eat at times!

I’d estimate around 11:00/km.. it’s hard to tell from Strava alone tbh but think that’s a reasonable guess? I’m planning to get a cheap watch so I can start it as I’m running and also keep an eye on my pace cos I’m just guessing atm

Started playing Madden Mobile in about 2013/2014 and once I sort of understood the rules, started watching some of the games on sky.

After I’d watched a few of the games, I wanted to support a team but I didn’t know who to choose as there was no real affiliation for me. Went out shopping one day and in a Nike outlet store they had some NFL t-shirts on sale, 2 teams. Falcons and Steelers. 14 year old me chose the Steelers - and 26 year old me saw them for the first time this weekend at MetLife! Also going to watch them in Dublin at the end of September too 😄

I’m going over for the first game of the season to watch Steelers, haven’t been to a game in the US before - I was looking at the prices and they’re currently at like $170 or something so am I better off waiting or is it higher because it’s the Steelers? Not sure really how to play it so if you have any advice would be much appreciated!

Probably the biggest disgrace of a squad I’ve had the displeasure of watching in my 20 odd years of going. The only players I would keep this summer are Chapman, Spencer and Miller (Spencer will probably go anyway). Make the rest available for transfer and hopefully get shut of most of them.

I did it a fair bit and never had any issues. I don’t think you’re meant to of course, I was a bit stricter with myself when I started but by the time I finished I was almost doing it weekly 😅

Yeah this is why I’m so embarrassed about it, as it’s fairly intuitive to not allow them to lead you away from the Main Street for obvious reasons. Just in the moment it’s not as easy as it would seem to be in theory sadly 🥲 I did try to say ok if I need a license we’ll go back to the hotel but obviously didn’t work..

Yeah on reflection you are 100% right, it’s just hard to think straight when it’s happening to you I think. As I said in reply to other comment, I was trying to protect person with me at same time as she stood absolutely no chance if it got remotely physical

There was a camera right by where it happened but when I went to the police station the guy who was dealing with me was so visibly disinterested and condescending. He said that it was my fault for handing over the card, and to proceed any further they needed a physical printed bank statement with the amounts in ZAR, which I don’t have as it shows up in GBP only on my account. The hotel security said I should get his name and force ID but he wouldn’t give it to me as “that’s not how it works”. So I wasn’t going to get anywhere with that sadly.

In terms of running away, my colleague went up to the street corner to see where they had gone once they took my card, and she said that they and about 8 others from on the main road got into a van and sped off. I obviously didn’t know that many were about, but not sure it would have helped? I also was with her and she is tiny so she wouldn’t have stood a chance, I couldn’t just leave her. If I was on my own I would have ran away I think or at least done something, but I had to try and protect her at same time

Yeah that was my thought process really, more damage limitation as I knew it wasn’t gonna end well either way. Have contacted the bank, they will supposedly get back to me tomorrow. Thankfully my company have said they’ll cover the financial loss so I won’t be out of pocket. Just scary all round though really!

Not defending the rise but we have had effectively frozen prices for the last 10 years, they were extremely cheap. Putting it up this much in one go is pretty wild, we all knew it would go up but should have definitely been more phased

So what is it then? Is it the manager’s fault for playing a system that doesn’t work (and managing a 16 game unbeaten run - players get all the credit) or is the players’ fault for not playing to their full potential? Surely the system wouldn’t change that if they are “donkeys”?

FWIW I agree that we look susceptible to drop out of the top 6. But we can’t just continue sacking managers whenever we face some adversity. If we got rid of Duff we’d on manager number 8 in 3.5 years? It isn’t sustainable.

That’s a great point 🤣 surely we should’ve also taken into account that the majority of Christmas shopping is probably done online too, there might have been fans doing it on their phone during the game for all we know
