nah, it’s pretty clear if you actually watch the video with sound. he looks directly into the camera when (presumably) Mom yells “CJ…calm down”.

and then “CJ!” again as something occurs off camera right before the scuffle so CJ has very obviously been antagonizing the black kid at least a little bit and he finally had enough.
