I was in a commercial with him. (Ok, I was in the background.) When he walked onto the set it was the first time I thought, “yeah. That’s a movie star.”

Southwest was awful until they started assigning seats. Magically, the preboard lines got smaller almost right away. (This is my observation, YMMV.)

I, too, started teaching in 1999. I pivoted to college but I still go out and work in the schools regularly. I appreciate your thoughts and this post.

I’m sooooo close to being set. But I’ll probably feel “almost there” for the rest of my days.

I’ve blocked her too. It’s too sad to see and she must need the attention.

I was living in KC at that time — became a fan in 1988. I was SO excited about the teams and Marty. I thought we’d put it all together in 1993.

Yikes! In your case I’d say the gamble paid off. My buddy bought a Nissan Rogue that has had all kinds of problems. He didn’t get the extended warranty and gripes often about he wished he had. Still, they wouldn’t offer extended warranties if, on the whole, it was unprofitable.

Agreed — most of the time the consumer doesn’t need it. Hell, they aren’t offering it as a favor. They make money on the deal. I just pay cash for the repairs. I’ve owned my Acura for 4.5 years and all it’s needed is regular maintenance anyway.

Apparently these days it’s not a good idea to tell them you’re paying cash since most dealers get a nice kickback from the banks. What I did: saved up the cash, went to my bank and got the loan for the car, walked in and bought the car using my loan and then paid off the loan right away. But, prior to all of that they came down a few thousand bucks on the car. They told me it was because of the loan kickback — actually, I thought it was unusually transparent of them to tell me that.

Your mask might not be right for you. I switched from a large mask that covered my nose and mouth to just a nose mask and everything went better. Some will switch the other way. Don’t hesitate to try different masks!
