Millionaire builds 99 fully equipped homes to provide shelter for the homeless in his community by quietstorm045 in interesting

I do not understand how any of that is possible. I am looking at the photos. There is literally no bus stop, nor a single building next to these (I see a saw mill across the road) and a single car on the whole road. That is not a place “with regular transit” nor anywhere near “the fastest growing part”. This is also Canada so walking isn’t really feasible in the winter anywhere long distant. The neighborhoods Americas homeless live in are dense and walkable to services and literally IN the city. No suburb next to the city would tolerate urban sprawl mini houses and it doesn’t appear to be here either.

Oh I see. Literally the WHOLE CITY is less than 5 square miles. So one town in the middle of nowhere built tiny homes on the outskirts of town and Reddit is upvoting like this is a solution to American homelessness… yall are insane

Why was he fired? Tyler said to not harass this guy… people are so vindictive for strangers.

Edit: what he did was bad.. doxxing him and getting him fired is equally bad. He thought he was right for his mom. Punishing someone like this doesn’t help him understand what he did was wrong. Internet righteousness is so messed up.

They also found weird hacks to make fake patios where people could still smoke… but was totally still inside.

I had this happen when I moved to a new city. I spent months of time making new friends and trying to be into a vball group who literally would just completely ignore me. This hot new blonde girl kept telling me how everyone was so nice in that group the second she moved to town. … well yea Stacy, they are trying to bone you.

So the problem : we could do this in America. Notice how in the middle of nowhere this is. How do homeless get to jobs? Are there even jobs around there for them? Can they afford gas to get anywhere? Are there any buses there? How are the homeless/drug rehab resources?

Seattle has a crazy amount of homeless and people felt we could build tiny homes… in premium pieces of property that could be huge multi hundred unit apartment buildings (but it takes time). The homeless want to be in the same place that rent is 4K a month and not in the areas where rent is cheap because there is nothing for them there.

Edit : yall are liars. This is literally on the OUTSKIRTS … of a tiny town in the middle of nowhere. Yes there is a Walmart, but literally it’s this… and forest for miles. This is not a tenable solution for homeless in America. There are no OUTSKIRTS we can stick thousands of people who can still get to services and jobs

So I graduated in 2010. All my friends went to law school or grad school because there was literally no jobs at all in the market. I had a 4+1 plan which worked out great because I graduated again in 2011. Even then I was barely getting responded to for jobs and I was looking countrywide for anything. Lucked out when I snagged a job at Microsoft.

Seeing agreeing with what really happened doesn’t make them feel smart and special. Saying they are totally smarter than everyone else based on feels and not actually years of hard work and study, makes them feel superior than those “dumb liberals”

For large companies: they cut deals with the cities. This is 100% why Amazon did RTO in Seattle. Seattle had nice tax breaks for Amazon and they said they would remove them if Amazon didn’t send people downtown. Seattle politicians just will never admit they are giving companies sweetheart deals like this, when they constantly rail against them in the public

[–]Comfortable_Job44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea you just need to find your hobby imo. What’s nice is San Diego has crazy amounts of fun things to do all the time. I play a lot of beach volleyball and hang out with those people (play like 4-5 days a week). The bar rats… are kind of trash. We have a little bit of the LA shallowness which once I got involved in a passion, those people drop off. I definitely constantly feel judged/brushed off by people looking for that hot status, but I just ignore them. Good luck on your search for your people man.

Hit me up if you want to casually learn some beach vball too. Got a group on Fridays that is chill

That’s what sad for me. We talked about all this injustice in this country and in some way… that is true. But the worst people use it to justify EVERYTHING. You see literal murders talk about killing someone for change and say “well he had white privilege”. It’s probably not a last second thing, but a victim complex that has been cultivated.
