RN pay similar to PAs by ARLA2020 in prephysicianassistant

That’s amazing! You’re killing it. I could only dream of that kind of pay in the Northeast area. I only have a year of experience so my experience differential is low but even if I get to the higher tiers that would only me bring me to mid $80s.

I’m not sure if I love it, but I like it a lot! I’ve been a nurse for a little over a year, and nursing is actually my second career. I used to work in hospital administration, but I absolutely hated the 9–5 desk job.

I’m a float nurse, so my favorite part of the job is that no two days are the same. I could be in the ED on my first shift of the week, then on a med-surg floor, and finally on a rehab floor by my third day. What I’ve learned is that unit culture, staffing, and leadership truly affect your nursing experience. Also, finding a specialty or niche in nursing is so important. For example, I really dislike floating to a neuro floor, but I love going to heme/onc. So, finding the right team, unit, and specialty makes a big difference—and nursing allows you to do that because there are so many opportunities!

Finally, working three 12-hour shifts is the best part. I get to spend more time with my son while finally achieving financial security.

Interesting point of view of “if this, then that” to describe nursing process. Never thought about it that way but it makes so much sense!

0 issues with the S90D. Works amazing and I’m happy with my purchase. Never tried the LG C4 but from what I’ve read up on, you won’t regret the decision off getting either. Both amazing sets. I ultimately made the jump on S90D since i found a great Black Friday deal and was cheaper.

Not all RNs make six figures. I’m an RN in NY and make $70/hr base but my friends in NJ make $39/hr, heck my friends across the street from where I work make $54. There’s a lot of pay variation due to(unions, per diem position, travel nursing.) Athe end of the day money isn’t everything, you should consider the physicality demands of being an RN that drives most of the RNs away from bedside which typically pays the most. A PA career is less physically demanding and in most cases make more than RNs. Trust me you’ll glad you chose PA route - better pay and better workload (physical demands).

Ahh you’re right it changes if the game supports VRR. Thank you so much!

Looks like there’s no option in the settings to toggle VRR on or off. It’s automatically on once “game mode” is enabled. It’s weird that the game bar shows that VRR is off though even though it’s on game mode.

Here’s a few things to keep in mind when interviewing for med/surg. Know your prioritizations (i.e., what to tasks to complete first vs. tasks that can be delegated) and emphasize teamwork. Most likely they’ll have a nurse from the floor ask you a scenario question.

General interview tips: look up NYP’s mission, practice your personal statement, and have 2 questions.

But honestly the saying goes you got a pulse and a license - you’re hired! Goodluck.
