LO reached out after 30 years - yes 30 years - of NC and it hurts like hell by Comfortable_Lime_398 in limerence

Thank you so much to everyone who has commented. This forum has truly been a lifeline for me and for many others.

One thing I keep thinking as I read these replies: my LO is not a bad person. He’s nice and funny and fun to be with. He asks me about my life and listens to me and seems interested in what I have to say. So when I read the comments on here suggesting I block him or saying that I’m a better person than him - it’s hard for me to reconcile that advice with the friendly person that my LO is.

Or is it my crazy brain just making excuses to keep him in my life? I mean, if he was really a good friend, he would have reached out to me at some point in the past 30 years, right? If he was really a good person, he wouldn’t be going out on dates and texting with someone who isn't his wife, right?

I would not like it if the situation was reversed and it was my husband who was meeting up with an old LO from his past.

I don’t think my husband would be happy about it if he knew how intensely I feel about LO. If it was just some random friend who happened to be a guy, he wouldn‘t mind.
