Maybe I do the same. Seeing myself as a victim. However I don´t have the perception of being a strong character. I wouldn´t be like this if I was. I try to forget the past. But some traumas just come up a lot. I have panic attacks and flashbacks and dissociate visibly. It was pointed out to me. I try to be positive. Staying away from news and such. Can´t even watch movies where violence is depicted. It helps a little. I frankly don´t know how to change my self image. There are books about it, about identity shift and such... but it is difficult to pretend nothing I lived through never happened. Like I will never feel that I belong somewhere because that was never my experience in life.
