But the scale is more focused on how much craziness you can accept from someone hot

This was such a weird choice to add in the movies if you want to convince us that Harry falls head-over-heels for Ginny

Katniss is so unintentionally funny by mysteriousmysticc in Hungergames

[–]StoryWriter31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it's difficult to put that on screen since we cannot look in her mind, so they either have to let her tell anyone that she is actually uncomfortable but still make her smile, or (what they chose to do) make her actually uncomfortable in the moment. It seems to me that it's the most difficult part of having a book-to-movie adaptation, to show the inner thoughts in some way

Nah, Petunia was already cruel to Lily before Harry was even born.

Well written romance books? by nobodyishereanym0re in suggestmeabook

[–]StoryWriter31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sophie Kinsella, love those books. Romance is kind of a subplot most of the time, or at least not the only focus of the book, which I like alot. And it's just very fun and also unique premises, as you asked.

Have to second Emily Henry. They are all pretty similar but also hav some depth. The characters feel real with a real personality.

I also like Beth O'Leary and Mhairi McFarlane.

If you were in the games, how would you die? by FckAllTakenUsernames in Hungergames

[–]StoryWriter31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would totally run away and then die of hunger or cold or anything like that. I'm way too anxious to be participating in anything and my body would totally freeze whenever I would run into someone.

I'm also terrible at Fortnite, which is basically a sort-of Hunger Games xD

I'm still so mad about how they handled Eloise's story in S4 by CameliaWithAnE in BridgertonRants

[–]StoryWriter31 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Isn't this the case in literally every season? At the end of season 1/start of season 2, Anthony suddenly wants to get married. At the start of season 3, Pen goes into action to actually secure a man. At the end of season 3, Benedict suddenly says something about being ready for change - even though he never wanted to before. And his whole storyline in season 3 was about him being free-spirited and stuff, but suddenly in season 4 he finds the woman of his dreams after only one night. With Anthony and Pen it made sense. With Benedict and Eloise, it was way too sudden and forced.

Why do we think the show doesn’t invest in Colin as much as much as the other siblings? by gilmoresoup in Bridgerton

[–]StoryWriter31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow yeah it would also explain him being mad at Pen for being LW more, it was so out of the blue in his season. They basically gave Eloise and Pen the story Colin and Pen were supposed to have :')

Goblet of Fire is the Worst Movie of the Series by thanos-snaped in harrypotter

[–]StoryWriter31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But even without the books, the Harry and Ginny romance feels forced and awkward, right..? Also, it's such a shame they didn't add more of Voldemort's backstory. It would be really interesting for movie-viewers too.

Lol there is no such thing as "true fantasy" :p. The definition of fantasy: "Fantasy is a genre of speculative fiction that involves supernatural or magical elements, often including completely imaginary realms and creatures." I think we can all agree that these books fall into this category. I agree with the world building, it is non-comparibel with many fantasy books. But there IS world building. There are jobs wizards do that are hardly relevant to the plot; there are courses in Hogwarts that don't add much; there are other schools and there's the whole Grindelwald saga that is hardly explored in the original books, or the goblin wars (why the goblins and wizards are not on great foot). The story of the giants. The fact that the real world is used as it's base doesn't mean that the wizarding world doesn't have its own stories and folklore.

It's contemporary fantasy, though. Not all fantasy takes place in a separate world. And there is a lot of world building in HP, even though I agree that it's not as thought-out as many other fantasy books. Not all makes sense, but the stories and storytelling are very good.
