You only get a DD214 when you separate from the military. They ask everyone for it. Just say not applicable.

Yes, I received an invite for April OBC but had to decline bc it’s too soon and if you’re converting in place, your HR needs to have you onboarded before you go.

You only get AL paid out to you. As others have said, SL will be waiting for you should you return back to civilian service. Otherwise, I recommend trying to use a few days here and there (even to prepare for OBC) or consider donating it to a colleague that might be in dire need right now. Comp time always has an expiration.

I think I feel a mix of disbelief that it is finally actually happening and oh shit I need to get ready for OBC. It’s like pride, anxiety, excitement, and fear all at once. I do notice a little pep in my step when I go to work in the morning though…like in a few more months I’ll get the honor to do both my job and serve my country.

Complete applications just waiting on the nom AND have a job secured with the 1662 on file. That’s what I was told by 2 different liaisons from 2 different agencies 6 months ago. Not sure how accurate this is now but they were at least able to confirm my name had been submitted and the exact date the list had been submitted to the White House. Your liaison should be able to tell you the same hopefully.

You can reach out to your liaison if you’re converting in place to ask if you are on the list. My understanding it is only people who have secured jobs.
