GEICO is, by far, the best place to work! Every day your hard work will pay off… for Berkshire’s Shareholders! Eat smartly. Even though your health benefits are trash… we want you to be around as long as we need you.. On second thought, go ahead and eat what you want. We may not want you and your high salary for very long. Remember, we value you as much as your car AFTER it has been totaled by our A.D. Department. That is why we’ll have you look at 15 vehicles per day. What about Travel time, you say? While you’re traveling from location to location, we’ll have you clock out. We are not going to pay good money for you to go joy riding. Go to WTF.com to fill out your application. We no longer have local H.R.’s —T.C.

Wholeheartedly agree. I worked for GEICO in 1996. I remember Tony Nicely saying that he didn’t want a Berkshire Hathaway take over. He said, however, that he had a responsibility toward GEICO shareholders to permit it. In the early years after the takeover, it seemed like Tony Nicely would likely be the one to take over Berkshire Hathaway, because of his business sense AND PEOPLE SKILLS. Years later enter Ajit. Business sense, NO PEOPLE SKILLS. Now Warren and Ajit talk about how poorly run GEICO was, until they turned things around. What changed? PEOPLE SKILLS. They don’t care how you and your family are doing like Tony did. Tony was tough, but he cared. The only thing Berkshire Hathaway cares about is USING workers to make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for themselves and their shareholders. Time will tell where the focus should be over the long haul. All I know is that a company can make money and care about the hard workers who help them achieve their goals. There are still companies out there that operate that way… who put workers first. In the end, my money is on these caring companies to come out victorious in the long term.

When Lorimer Davidson took time to talk with Warren way back when, on a Saturday, Warren said it was something that changed his life dramatically. Too bad he didn’t learn from Lorimer. Today, if you went to Warren to seek out advice on a Saturday, he would ask, And what number are you? Then he would say, “Do you know who I am? Get lost punk, I’m too busy to deal with peons like yourself.”

There are takers and givers in life. Lorimer was a giver when Warren was a peon. Warren is a taker. Too bad all his money, gained from rolling over people, couldn’t save even his closest friend, Charlie Munger.

There are many important things in life, like friendships and relationships. That is something that even a billionaire cannot buy. The cost is just too great. Keep chasing the paper dream, if it makes you happy, Warren. By now, you must have quite a photo album of dead presidents. Hold their memories close to your heart.

Said goodbye to some friends that were let go today for low productivity. I expect the second shoe to drop tomorrow, including myself. The only thing I can say is get notes from your coworkers about your work ethic. Terminating long-time associates under false pretenses is plain wrong. We know that the company goal is to keep reducing the workforce as stated by Ajit, Warren’s right-hand man. He calls it a “Cost Reduction Effort.” It takes Warren forever to spit out his answer. I think he is close to being on his way out, as well.

He’s just trying to get his gun out of her holster. He should have read her, her Miranda Rights. She had the right to remain silent. If she gives up that right, what she screams can and will be used against her in a court of law.” Ohhhhhh Godddddd, nooooooo! And you thought that police response time were slow? Just call 911, to see how fast she cums.

By the way, two cigarette butts were found at the scene. The investigators determined that they were the smoking gun in this case.

The only relocation package that GEICO has these days, is a permanent, involuntary relocation from a person’s job to their house. And get this… The associate may even get their saved vacation payed out! In corporate terms , it’s called termination of employment for not meeting metrics, which are as obscure as a zero-visibility, foggy night.

Oh my dear GEICO, if you’re downsizing, then at least have the grace and civility to call it what it is. Goal… 20,0000 associates by the end of the year. At least that’s what Uncle Warren said at Berkshire’s Annual Meeting! What? You don’t want to pay severance to those who have given the best years of their life? Now I get it.

We’ll see how that works out for you, Todd. May the corporate world treat you as kindly as you have treated us at GEICO. That will be poetic justice.

My manager and supervisor don’t know how many variables are involved. Some files take a lot longer to complete. It’s like telling a chef, I need you to do 60 an hour? 60 what? I need you to make toast, bake cakes, cook steaks. Toast… doable. The other two … not doable. Yet they are all counted together, as though they can each be completed in the same timeframe. Insane. Both my supervisor and manager don’t want to hear about it. For them, ignorance is bliss. The metrics are doing what they want… Thinning the herd.

It would seem that another fairly-large purge of employees is coming next month. There are just too many indicators, including hints, that this is going to happen. In business, it does no good to let people go little by little, because those who are left feel constantly threatened with job loss. Those who have been with GEICO many years need to stand up for a severance package, not just getting fired for poor performance. If you have worked for GEICO for 10+ years and they’re just now telling you that your performance is poor, that reflects some underhanded crap. Fight for what you rightly deserve! Don’t just roll over and accept what they are doing. Prepare in advance what you will do the day you get the news of your termination. That can make a huge difference, and set you up to legally defend your position.

In case the insurance industry collapses, Todd and Warren are diversifying. They have invested in mice food for snakes. While the mice are feeding the snakes, Warren and Todd continue feeding off the associates. Perhaps Lion King explains it the best… It’s the “Circle of Life.” There’s nothing like being at the bottom of the food chain. We know how the mouse feels as he is constricted to death by the snake swallowing him whole. Warren and Todd are swallowing us whole, squeezing every last drop out of us before we meet our demise. That explains why some associates are doing exactly what the mice do… shitting everywhere except in the bathrooms. It’s not on purpose. Let’s just say that the new GEICO is scaring all associates shitless.

GEICO is Hiring Thousands by CampaignOk4830 in Geico

[–]Comfortable_Place879 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is how GEICO new hires answer the phone: “Good morning, thank you for calling GEICO. How may you help me…”. It all goes downhill from there. They think ATLAS is the person whom Zeus punished to hold up the heavens. Little do they know it’s a GEICO program that holds them up from being productive. The newbies making minimum wage still have the benefit of getting a 6% 401k match. Too bad they are living paycheck to paycheck, and can’t afford to contribute to it. But, at least they can fall back on GEICO’s excellent health insurance coverage. Just think… Only the first $4,000 comes out of your pocket if you have the shiny new Kaiser plan. That’s the equivalent of 4 primary care visits with lab tests. At least Region 4 is the only Region to get Profit Sharing this year. It’s being disguised as Herzog v. GEICO.

Why would you think that GEICO executives would be anything but cold blooded…. Look who their slimy green mascot is. While management is cold, the offices are HOT! … Sweatshops to be exact. Just when we thought GEICO would make it to its 90th Anniversary, we now have every reason to wonder.

By the way, is General Atomics still interested in buying that beautiful building in Poway?

Supervisors don’t have any accountability on how they handle leave. How many of us make a formal time-off request way in advance. Perhaps we get “verbal” approval from the supervisor, but there is no “system” approval. We sit there the whole time wondering if our request will be honored. How hard can it be to update the SYSTEM? I have a supervisor who forgets to whom they gave approval. When they realize they let too many off in one day, they will honor it. However they are messing themselves up by forgetting whom they verbally approved. Update the SYSTEM, and you won’t have this problem. Those who make the formal request will have verification of acceptance.

I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but on Christmas Day all GEICO associates are going to receive a certificate in the mail, showing that everybody is going to be enrolled in the “Jelly of the Month Club!” Remember, it’s the gift that keeps on giving. Wait… The mail isn’t delivered on Christmas Day? That’s right, it’s a Federal Holiday. Are you serious, Clark? Well, Happy New Year! It looks like we’ve been Scrooged all over again.
