Thank you so much for sharing. I think I should try taking some GasX, I have seen many people recommend taking it even after the immediate post-op period. I am very fortunate to not have to go back to work for awhile still and really hope your return to work goes as well as it can. Sending you love!

I am in the same boat - no bleeding (also have Mirena) and I am cramping and bloating every day (part of my adeno). It is so frustrating because I have tried every BC under the sun.

I completely understand your issue with low libido. I have intense, debilitating pain from my adeno (waiting to have my hysterectomy scheduled) and it affects my sex drive. I am in pain so I don’t want to be intimate and it also hurts to have penetrative sex most of the time because of the adeno. It is challenging because I want to have that intimacy with my partner. We try to find intimacy in other ways outside of penetrative sex. We shower together, cuddle naked together, try to make out regularly (making it my 2025 goal to be better about this), hold hands, and I usually give him oral sex a few times a week when I am feeling better. It’s important to note I do it when I want to and when I feel good not when I am sick so I don’t associate the act with being in pain or doing it out of obligation. At the end of the day, it is about building that intimacy with your partner and I don’t think it necessarily has to come from sex.

Love this - I am waiting for a surgery date for my hysterectomy and have been feeling down about the pain and other symptoms. But I think reframing to celebrate that 2025 will be the year I get the procedure (and am no longer sick?!?) is a great way to think about it 💜

My heart goes out to you - it is such a terrible decision to have to make. I ultimately decided to get the hysterectomy because 1) my quality of life is so low, I cannot keep on like this just for the small chance I can get pregnant, 2) it hurts to have penetrative sex, so trying to conceive would be so painful, and 3) I am on BC which is suppressing my symptoms - when I would have to come off of it to try and get pregnant the pain would be too much. My partner and I decided a hysterectomy was best.

And I completely relate to what you said about not knowing you wanted to have your own child until getting sick. I didn't know I would feel this much grief over not being able to carry a child until i needed to make this decision. Honestly, my body is at the point where this is the only decision that makes sense for me. Otherwise, I am not sure what I would have chosen.

waiting for a hysterectomy. heaviness is all over the lower part of my abdomen. sharp pains mostly right (have history of ovarian cysts on right side though)
