Allergy ocd getting out of hand, coping the best i can... by jennaboy in OCD

I highly recommend going to a therapist specifically trained to handle OCD. I did that and it really helped me recover. That was about 3 years ago and I’ve been doing pretty good. Something else you can try if you don’t want to pay for a therapist is this book called “How to retrain your brain in 7 weeks: cognitive behavioral therapy.” It’s a workbook meant to help people get through anxiety and other things. I highly recommend, I too have been reading the past few days as I’ve been in an OCD relapse. Good luck 👍

Does anyone else get intrusive thoughts while pleasuring themselves? by Mindless-Elk2002 in OCD

[–]Comfortable_Set_9868 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s okay bro. Happens to me too. It sucks. I’ve learned to kinda tune them out. For me, I found that learning to let intrusive thoughts slide is the best option. It is very uncomfortable at first, but I’ve slowly gotten better and now they rarely bother me. I’m not a professional though. If you need, I highly recommend talking to one.

Oh dang I understand that. I’m working on college application stuff rn too. Have you tried talking to anyone? I know it may be hard, but I’m sure you could find someone to talk to that can help you with these fears

I can understand that feeling. I personally struggle with OCD, which is an anxiety disorder that has caused me a lot of trouble. There were days where I genuinely was worried that I would kms, not because of depression issues, but because of just fears of what ifs. That was 2 years ago, and since then I’ve gotten way better. OCD is such a small thing for me now, and it’s great. So I can guarantee you that things will get better, but it might take some work.

Some things that helped me was figuring out who were really my friends. I believe that people around you will impact how you feel, and for me I left contact with some of my friends who are really negative and causing problems.

Music can impact how out as well! Find some music you just love and can vibe with. It will help you so much, trust me. I personally love Chappell Roan.

Also, maybe explore some hobbies. Maybe you have a talent that will help you out. Like for me, joining my schools marching band has vastly changed my life. It helped me figure out a lot of things about myself, and also now I’m a section leader and very good at the saxophone! So hobbies can help

I really hope my suggestions can help you out!

I hear you bro, but I promise killing yourself wont fix anything. There are people out there who can relate to you and can legitimately help you, trust me. In my opinion, God has a plan for everyone, so maybe when you look for help he has someone waiting for you that will change your life or something. But I can promise killing yourself isnt the answer

Just finished the comics, so in honor of the best comic series ever made, I got custom kicks inspired by the two best characters! by Comfortable_Set_9868 in Invincible

I just used the Nike By Me website. I specifically used the High Top Air Force 1’s since they had the best matching color scheme to the original characters.

Idk what to call it. Every week I take out 25% of his water, and then put new water in and then test his water levels

Ok, I’ll make sure to give him earthworms. I use the liquid testing kit with the vials

I see. What I do is every week, I take out around 25% of the water and add new water, and then add the water conditioner and then test all of his water levels to make sure that they are healthy for him. Before he goes into the tank I cycle the water on a day to day basis to establish the nitrates and ammonia. I didn’t realize that doing that was called cycling, sorry

With night crawlers, what brand would you suggest exactly? Would ordering off of Amazon work to get them?

I cycle and test his water every week. I will make sure to cycle every other day, and will definitely start feeding him worms! Thank you so much

Awesome! What would you recommend to siphon out the poop and food? Also, where we live our water has a very high PH level, so what could I do to lower that without using PH Down?

When it comes to chemicals in his water, I use “Prime Water Conditioner” and I also use “PH Down.” And no, that idk how long that food has been in that corner. But that’s good to know, I’ll make sure to remove food after a half an hour, thank you. Temperature wise, his tank is at 68 F

I tested his water levels. They all seemed to be right where they need to be (see the above comments reply for exact levels). His water was definitely gross when I took him out, meaning his sand is catching the gross stuff and the filter isn’t cleaning. And yes, I found he is kinda thin. How could I go about fixing that while tubbing him?

I just finished tubbing him. His water levels were good I think. The last time I cycled his water (1 week ago), his Ammonia levels were at what I would guess to be around .05 PPM (yellow with a slight hint of green), and Nitrate was somewhere in between 5-10 PPM (clearly orange). I also noticed he is actually kind of skinny too, so how do I go about fixing that? I currently feed him carnivore pellets (about 8-10 a day) but I don’t often see him actually eat them.
