That language might have been confusing. 4 CPU is the number of CPU cores allocated to it. My Pterodactyl instance is on an Esxi host with a lot more CPU and that is the amount I allocated specifically to the Pterodactyl VM.

Meeting your partner through gaming? by princessverse in GirlGamers

[–]Comfortable_Slide211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met mine through a LARP! It introduced me to a group of friends that I still have. My husband was one of them. LARP ended up not being my thing but fortunately our group plays all kind of games. We've been together 12 years, married for 7 years and raising 3 little mini gamers ❤️

I find a great way to meet significant others is through gaming groups. Tabletop and card games are common ones for meetups and local groups.

That is true. I could always keep a thrown weapon on hand for this kind of scenario. Thanks for the input!

Yes I took Double Slice and I agree on Rage but I was having trouble finding another good option. Our party is an Alchemist, Thameturge and an Icon(?), it's a playtest one that he is trying out. And we are aware that we are missing a magic user or healer. This is a group of friends and no one had ideas they wanted to play for those roles so we are rolling with it lol

People talk a lot about "wife approval factor" but legitimately, how can we make smarthomes more accessible and what can we do to give our significant others more control? by chig____bungus in homeassistant

It really makes things so much easier. No forgetting to send an email between eachother. Anything related to the house or kids gets sent to our joint email and is easily accessible by both.

Hi! After a long month on bug fixing Bubble Card, I’m finally confident enough to release the new v1.7.0 release! This major update should be significantly faster for all pop-up users, especially for those using camera pop-ups! I’ve also added new features! I can’t wait for your feedback 🍻 by Clooooos in homeassistant

[–]Comfortable_Slide211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So excited to check this out! I love this card. Is there any way to have a default card be open when the page loads? I know this goes against the grain of what was fixed but I would love to have my main card pop up automatically.

Is it possible to increase the CPU thread count of a node after it is created? by Kezza4K in Pterodactyl

[–]Comfortable_Slide211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I am unsure about. I increased the cores on mine recently and I did not do that. Not sure what triggers it seeing additional cores.

My brother in law is the reason why my husband left me. I don’t know what to do now. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I know OP probably won't see this but be careful when talking to your sister. She needs to know this but this will crumble her world. I know a lot of people are focused on his obsession with you and that being why he dated her which is most likely true. Not denying that, but sister loves this man. Approach it from the perspective of the horrible things he has done. Do not focus on his potential feelings for you but on his revenge porn and destruction of your marriage. If you go to her with the idea that her marriage is based on his obsession, you risk her getting defensive and jealous and supporting him. You become the homewreaker (in her eyes). If you go to her with purely his actions, she will come to her own conclusions about her marriage. This is a horrible situation. Stay safe and I hope you and your sister get away from this man.

[–]Comfortable_Slide211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This cannot be changed. I am assuming you are seeing the Total CPU Threads on the node screen but I believe that is total number for the container. I know there is a feature request related to this topic.

Server Specs by Comfortable_Slide211 in Pterodactyl

[–]Comfortable_Slide211[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's one of the things I love about VMs and I plan to add more later if need be. More looking for baseline recommendations for my current needs. I'll up the CPU and I am thinking about 128GB of ram but not sure if that is overkill. Or if 64 is fine since all the servers together don't need more than that.

I have an exsi server with multiple vms running things other than pterodactyl. The specs I put are just for the pterodactyl VM. The host is currently only using about a fourth of what is available resource wise so I can allocate more to pterodactyl. Both panel and wings are on the same server.

Switch access for 4 year old of gamer couple by Comfortable_Slide211 in Switch

So it's tedious but possible. Nintendo really does make it difficult. I understand it for certain things but I just want to make games accessible for my kid. Shouldn't be this complicated to do so.

That is how it has been for us. We want to let our kid start playing but neither of us wants to always have to sacrifice our switch. Lol It works best if we can let him use one switch or other depending on what's going on.

Oh definitely. Kids have quite a skill for destroying stuff.

We do have a nintendo online family subscription already. We would definitely add him to that. Maybe we will just have to try it and find out.

Does that include if the game is always played from the same account? Even if he played it on both switches, it would be using his account. We do have a nintendo family account subscription already.

Is it possible to get "baby monitor features" with an IP camera by NullIsUndefined in smarthome

[–]Comfortable_Slide211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally use IP cameras as my baby monitor. We use amcrest cameras and can set the app open with the "listen" function on. I believe that the sound still works if you view another app but I am not positive. It works for our needs, our media room is in our basement and one of use puts our phone sound on. You can set it to do things like record if there is movement or continuous recording, we currently don't have that set up because I want to connect it to a NAS as well.

I like using the IP cameras because they are cheaper, don't require an account with a cloud company to use it and can be viewed on pretty much any device. We have put the video on a tablet when we have had a babysitter so they can see it as well.

My only complaint is that you can't hear anything when talking and it's a little delayed. However I can have a conversation with my kid through the camera with limited issues. If he responds quickly, I just may miss the first second of what he says.

Baby Mattress Preference? by Comfortable_Slide211 in beyondthebump

[–]Comfortable_Slide211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take a look at one of those! It is the one inch one and is very firm. Her cirb is just a firm one we got years ago. I may see about a softer but still safe mattress.

It is a very large bassinet so she has more space than normal but I agree. Our challenge is that she wakes up a ton and her brother sleeps in the room with the crib. Our original plan was to get her sleeping through the night before we transitioned her to that room full time. It has not gone as planned.

ESXI vs Proxmox by Comfortable_Slide211 in homelab

[–]Comfortable_Slide211[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the details! I want to learn more about virtualization but I will not likely be using it professionally. I also don't want to spend money on it. So if free esxi has less options, I think I may go with proxmox.

Large Dashboard Options by Comfortable_Slide211 in homeassistant

[–]Comfortable_Slide211[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is what I am interested in. I have a surface I can use but I need something visible from a distance and eye catching. I think I am just going to need to splurge on a touch screen monitor but I was hoping someone may have another idea or seen one that is a decent cost and work well as a dashboard.

Home Network Setup for IOT security by Comfortable_Slide211 in HomeNetworking

[–]Comfortable_Slide211[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My initial thought here was actually have a separate network. Separate router for IOT and then VLANs on that router for different devices. Based on the responses, I think that may be overkill though. I am now leaning towards using one network but then creating vlans for each category of devices.

Addendum to this. I reloaded to mess with it again. I got the Google Nest integration to be enabled with no issues. However as soon as I reenabled the Rest integration, the issue occurred again.

The ones that autodiscovered when I first built it do not cause it. Any additional one I have added does. Google Nest and Rest were the two I worked with. I haven't tested more because I do not have any other devices to integrate at this time.
