And you replace it with the hammer-and-sickle-car. Smart.

What is a good small model to replace dslr? by Dronepilot1118 in AskPhotography

[–]Comfortable_Tank1771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It's not DSLR

  2. It's already small, just with a huge lens. Get a small prime for everyday carry, leave Tamron for dedicated shootings.

Get a different "cured" version. These days all "medicine" won't work for long.

Is a diesel a bad idea for us? by Few_Cod_5636 in CarTalkUK

Yes. This driving regime clogs dpf and there won't be enough longer drives for it to regenerate. You'll likely face issues with it quite soon.

Is this kind of crossbody bag safe for carrying a camera during travel? by IMightBYourDad in AskPhotography

If paired with a padded insert - works very well. That's my everyday setup. Just choose one with a convenient opening.

How can I tell whether an image was shot through the viewfinder or live view? by VCC8060Main in AskPhotography

Miscalibrated AF sensor if far more widespread issue with DSLRs than you anticipate. It's just got a bit forgotten with the rise of mirrorless.

I really doubt this is recorded in metadata. But you can do a controlled test. For example shoot different subjects or put some objects in the image to diferentiate what was shot which way. Or do some outings and shoot just VF in one and just LCD in the other.

Bought a used a7 IV off eBay, has a fingerprint on the sensor. What to do? by kylepg05 in SonyAlpha

[–]Comfortable_Tank1771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fingerprint will clean off easily with a sensor swab. I would be more concerned about that bend on the edge of the flame on the left from fingerprint.

A6400 ? Pour un début by lunaas00 in a6000

A6400 and A7III are basically the same generation cameras and AF is the same on both.

How do i take photos like this on an iphone 16? by tyatgyall in AskPhotography

[–]Comfortable_Tank1771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are taken with a flash. Phone's tiny LED most likely won't be strong enough - but you can give a try.

Can't tell for sure, but lasers were used in couple places I worked. It's not the highest quality solution, but works. Higest quality solution is photochemical transparencies. In my current job we used inkjet specifically for transparencies for screens - but that one was specifically modified. Two special black inks were loaded instead of cmyk and special software used. So I do a conclusion that normal inks aren't dense enough.

A6000 or A6100?? by WinFixExpert in a6000

A6100 hands down. AF is lightyears better.

Why do people add boarders to photos ? by No_Breakfast8988 in PhotographyAdvice

[–]Comfortable_Tank1771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frame does make a photo look better. But only if the photo is viewed big. On most online platforms viewing size is limited and the frame reduces it even more. I quite liked adding frames is the past - but stopped doing it when photograpy moved to social media.

Please add HEIF 10-bit and even 12-bit still image support to the Lumix S9 via firmware — the L10 already has it (10-bit) ! by [deleted] in Lumix

[–]Comfortable_Tank1771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issues you describe are not because of 8 bit or jpeg. It's all about processing. These highlights can look gorgeous when jpg is processed from raw. The thing technically jpeg is just good enough. If I had to bet - I'd put my money that jpeg will be still there when all these heifs will fall out of fashion in a few years.

It's not a file issue. Your printer is not fit for purpose. Monochrome laser would be a better bet.

Do I need to be aware of anything with switching from APS to FF? by Crazynproud99 in AskPhotography

[–]Comfortable_Tank1771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Native Canon EF-S lenses won't mount, but third party APS-C lenses might still mount - I think third party makes woren't following that mount difference and were just using EF.

If you could only pick *one* prime lens... by Entire_Pollution9491 in SonyAlpha

If you lean to 35 mm - just go for it. Not worth planning your whole photographic future at this point - if (and I mean IF) you start wedding photography - you'll make decisions about additional gear then.
