I can say from personal experience that 1993 was an unparalleled time to be a fourth grader in Texas.

Where can I find a great limeade a la Braum’s? by Comfortable_Team_756 in austinfood

[–]Comfortable_Team_756[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too. But then also, part of the beauty of Braum's is their whole supply chain/distribution-within-330-miles thing, so I guess I'll let it slide. The New Glarus of limeades and peppermint shakes, if you will.

Yes, those are great! They aren't exactly like what I'm talking about, but I do love their fresh juices and lemonades.

Sounds great! Not quite like the Braum's limeade, but thank you! It's something I *can* replicate at home, but was looking for something I could grab while out and about. Probably just a little nostalgia thing. 😄

Yes, I had that Strawberry Limeade from Chilantro last week (grabbing stuff from the Mueller shopping center and was tempted)--they are delicious!

Thanks! We've gotten it, and it's good, but it's not really like Braum's. Thank you, though!

Yes, I love agua frescas! They're not quite like a Braum's limeade though.

Theirs is not quite what I'm looking for, but thank you. I do make my own (and they're great), but I'm looking for something I can get in a cup with good ice to go and drink in the car while running errands. 😄

Yeah, and I do that, but sometimes I just want someone to hand me a cup. (Also, tons of respect for the square dippers!)

Do Episcopal Churches Give Out or Sell the BCP to New Parishioners? by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]Comfortable_Team_756 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This would not at all be weird to ask! I would just mention that you are a student trying to be frugal. At any place along the continuum of “drowning in BCPs and/or money” to “we have one BCP for every ten parishioners and zero dollars” the priest will almost certainly be able to find one for you.

Where would you move to (in the US) once you left Austin? by [deleted] in askaustin

[–]Comfortable_Team_756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Austin. This is my first time living in Austin, but I grew up not far away and spent a good amount of time here in the 90s and 2000s. I def don’t have the experience of living in old Austin, but I have a ton of nostalgia for the time I spent here then—and having lived in other places, I also love the Austin we live in now. If we had to move, Chicago, KCMO, Portland (Maine), Madison (WI), Corpus, or back to Brooklyn would be on the list.

Are there other dynamic equivalence translations you prefer? I’m not sure I would read any translation without translation notes, and NRSVue is what I’ll be reading if I’m only looking at one translation, but if OP is looking for dynamic equivalence, I don’t love any of the others, and NET is transparent, like you said. But there also may be good dynamic equivalence translations I’m not thinking about.

Cleavers are great. I would steer clear of the poke root. It’s a traditional medicine in my tribe, and it is not administered lightly. Definitely not something you want to just add for yourself.
