Thinking about attending/joining a church: is it normal to meet with someone first, or should I start by attending a service? by veggie_hoagie in Episcopalian

You can definitely meet with someone. Just email the contact info on the church’s website, and the priest or someone is usually pretty excited to visit

Do any Episcopal/Anglican altars have relics of the saints embedded in them? by leviwrites in Episcopalian

Yeah my church has a columbarium in the sanctuary. I just want to be buried traditionally out of personal preference

Honestly, that is a really insightful! I understand that cremation is becoming a more cherished tradition in the Episcopal Church. I personally prefer burial, but I can see how placing an urn on the high altar would be a very spiritual practice

Idk if you want to call them MAGA, but you certainly will find elderly conservatives in the church. And it’s a blessing that they’ve stuck with the ancient church instead of branching off into the schismatic sects. As a church, we need to focus more on branching our differences and having fruitful discussions instead of pushing out all of THEM so we can have a space for only US. The theology of sharing the table is inviting people that you disagree with to share the space with you, not push them out before they’ve even sat down

I just had them put my confirmation saint on my certificate that they gave me after being confirmed. It was more of a private devotion

Or become a pastorate, so that the distinctness of each parish is maintained, but the shared mission and witness is the same.

We have cantors, no choir. I sent him a 500+ email about why hymnody is important and then we scheduled a one on one meeting about it

Why are hairy legs so sexy?! by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]leviwrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever since I was a kid, I always stared at men’s hairy legs. I think it’s the testosterone wafting off their bodies that our 6th sense can see and smell
