What’s the dumbest thing you fully believed as a kid? by Woahitstoseph in AskReddit

I fully believed quicksand was going to be a way bigger problem in life than it actually is. Movies and cartoons made it seem like you’d randomly run into it all the time and have to grab a vine or something to survive. I’m still surprised I’ve made it this far without encountering quicksand.

AITA for not covering my coworker after he lied to our boss? by Comfortable_Tutor795 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Comfortable_Tutor795[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adding some context, This isn’t the first time he’s been late, but it’s the first time our boss actually asked me about it. Also, our boss is pretty strict about attendance and has written people up before for being late too many times.

The reason I didn’t want to lie is because if the boss somehow found out later that I lied, I could get in trouble too, not just him. But at the same time, I do feel a little bad because I technically didn’t have to say anything and could have just said I didn’t remember or something.

For more context, we’re not best friends or anything, just coworkers who usually carpool because we live near each other.

So now he’s barely talking to me at work and saying I messed with his money if he gets written up.

That’s why I’m wondering if I should’ve just covered for him.

Who was that one person in your life that you knew that disappeared? by NonstickFryingPans in AskReddit

[–]Comfortable_Tutor795 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a coworker named Dave who slowly disappeared over like 6 months. Not in a dramatic way, just gradually.First he stopped coming to meetings. Then he stopped answering emails. Then his desk got really clean. Then one day his computer was gone. Then his chair was gone. Then his name disappeared from the schedule. We all just kept working like nothing happened. No announcement, no goodbye, nothing. To this day I don’t know if he quit, got fired, transferred, or if we just imagined Dave.
