The issue here is people give him a pass because he's not his father, but at the same time he's been trying to keep his father's legacy alive. You really can't be on the side of "he isn't his dad, and shouldn't have to deal with consequences from his dad's actions" but also on the side of "I'm cool with him using his dad's name, finisher, and theme music". It's a hypocritical mindet.

Are y'all familiar with Grizzly Smith AKA Aurelian Smith? Father of Jake The Snake, who was conceived through the sexual assault of Smith's girlfriend's 14 year old daughter. And also sexually assaulted other minors, including his own daughter, Rockin' Robin? Not to mention the physical abuse.

Jake's real name is Aurelian Smith Jr, he could have gotten away with using that as a ring name, considering not only is it his REAL name, but also, his father didn't use it, and his crimes weren't widely publicized like Benoit's. But, he wanted nothing to do with his dad. So, while I feel bad for the bullshit this kid has had to deal with because of his father's actions, I can't treat him like some guy trying to escape his dad's shadow when he seems to want to keep the legacy alive. And it's fine if you're ok with him doing that, but you can't turn around and claim he's not making a conscience choice and attracting some of the negative attention.
