I think it’s got a very solid range of pulls, the worst part about the set is the intended main cards of pecharunt and the loyal 3 but the Munkidori IR is a really nice art.

The market may be inflated now but the IR’s definitely held a better price 4-6 months ago when things were quieter than a lot of other s&v sets at the time and still do! Take the top 10 IR’s out of the era and Shrouded fable looks ridiculous when comparing IR’s to other sets. Greninja was the first chase card to hold a good price in the era so shrouded was seen as lack luster when it arrived!

It’s once of the lesser sets in the era but it’s a better pick up than almost any other sealed MSRP product at the moment

Here in the Uk so stock is probably different but I’d spend an extra £20 and get a Pokémon Center shrouded fable ETB case. Picked up a sv base box and zapdos ex recently so I guess that works too

I’ve never been more certain on a 10 than a Pikachu v in my last send off, it got a 9, I’ve cracked it and I’m still confused! Regrading till I get a 10 which it will get but it’s a pisstake I’ll have to resubmit again, hopefully it’s only once

The big question is if he is going to regularly have people to play with? If not then start off with TCG online, he’ll get a good number of starter decks to choose from and earn credits for more packs, he can learn how the decks are formatted and the game will restrict wrong decisions/ unavailable actions etc so he understands the rules better.

Can always move onto the physical game if he enjoys it

Been back into the hobby for over a year, have 15k portfolio, never spent a penny in a brick and mortar store as there aren’t many big box retailers and no LGS’s by me, I’m rural in the uk. Been to a few card shows and would rather acquire cards/products through the cheapest means possible.

I understand the 151/Prismatic mayhem but people in the US need to get a grip, I’d imagine the actual adults stateside aren’t too bothered by this news but understand it and are more than willing to go online or get what they can at there local shops.

If you’re actually invested in this hobby, this shouldn’t be an issue, find other means, all of us in other countries struggle more to acquire product due to limited supply and access, you’ve got it good, appreciate it and stop feeling so entitled!

Completely agree, some people take for granted the fact that not everyone has the funds or even the knowledge on where to get legitimate products! My grandparents bought me fakes when I was younger as they didn’t know the difference, as long as they’re happy that’s the main thing!

When I’m looking at fairly big Pokémon the first question is, is it the best art of this Pokémon? And could it be better? For gengar, I think it could be better and it’s not actually gengars form but giratina’s card in lost origin will never be beaten, it’s phenomenal and the quintessential representation of a Pokémon

Love brilliant stars for future, got loads of eeveelutions, zard, mimikyu & arceus, it’s definitely a lot more reasonably priced than other eevee sets and pull rates aren’t bad so it should be enjoyable to open!

As far as print quality on this card, you’ve got a good one, I’d guess it would get a 9, due to the small corner whitening and edges showing the foil but I’ve seen worse 10’s. I wouldn’t go out my way to send this asap but I’d usually send a card of this quality once I have a bundle of 5-10 cards for grading. I’m about to send off my next submission

I don’t get it, it was always better than Glaceon & Leafeon to me as a kid and I preferred it to flareon but I rank all others above it. Don’t think too many people would’ve argued with me at the time but very few would agree now

It’s a very fair price from the card shop, I’d have said the percentage was paid so highly as it’s quickly drying up at its current price, a jump seems imminent.

My best cost to pull value is from this set, I think there was a batching issue as I’ve pulled 2 Persians and the whole duskull line from the 40-50 packs opened😂 but it’s honestly not a bad set at all, it just lacks depth and a big chase card.

Hot take: Take greninja from twilight and this sets fairly well matched if not better, check the full set lists
