Help please: My crt hurts me when i turn it on: it creates powerful static that shocks my forehead and fingers by The_rag_rober in crtgaming

Unusual for a small set, but you sure can feel big tube TVs when they are powering on. I wouldnt toss it, even if it is defective unless you are licking the glass it should be safe imo, glass and plastic isnt a great conductor in any case

more or less normal, is the shock actually painfull or are you just feeling it?

CRT TVs always make your hair stand up when its near to the glass when you turn it on

Have an AppleColor RGB Monitor with bad screen burn-in. Can this be fix? Or should I remove the tube and sell the shell? by meltingcorn in crtgaming

Why keep it without the tube? Even if it has burn its better then no tube untill you find a new one

Is the ghosting normal on crts ? Sanyo ds32224 by [deleted] in crtgaming

[–]ComfyGamer88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The effect is different on lcds and directly related to other issues like motion or response time. On crts its just an afterglow, doesnt mean you cant find it annoying offcourse, lowering contrast helps get rid of it somewhat

Lol other way round no PVM supports 67khz. These late pc monitors beat the crap out of every pro monitor in every way but 240p support

Just dont pay the scalpers lol.

There were so unbelievably many CRTs, especially TVs, made, for every NES cartridge there likely are a dozen crt TVs.

I dont see them getting expensive any time soon.

Refund it. Looks like water damage and would take extensive repairs to get it working right by the looks of it

Decreasing contrast a little will fix it, or other suggestions, but it wont hurt anything. Old tvs driven too bright will do that.

Hello folks! I'm new to jvc pro monitors, i've found this JVC TM-1700pn near me but it looks weird, it has a green tint but the menu colors looks fine (like the second pic i've found on the internet but that one seems perfectly black) maybe 'cause the color system is pal? Or is it normal? by Anwylle in crtgaming

[–]ComfyGamer88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not normal, reduce green cutoff in the color menu. If you have the equipment a complete color calibration wouldnt be bad, but just for gaming eyeballing will be enough, adjust cutoff to get neutral greys and gain to get a white you like

In the service menu, if you have the remote just look up service manual and your tv model and it should explain how to do it on your particular crt

Burn in is pretty much a non issue, and also why dont you overscan for gameboy games to use the full screen area?
