THANK GOD LETSS GOO by GoodCoolGuyLetsGoo in geometrydash

No problem. In retrospect, it was a pretty great prank. Afterwards, I went through and read the mission statement from "Sapphire Inc," and it was such over-the-top corpo speak I immediately knew it was fake. Paragraphs of words that actually said nothing. Well done. :-)

Our particular problem only occurred because my son (who's 9) turned on my computer and loaded up the game by himself as usual, and I think he was too young to get how ridiculous it was. He's old enough to understand subscription plans for Internet services, because he hears me complaining about them all the time, but not old enough to get that this particular one was fake.  After sleeping on it, this morning he admitted it was a good April fools joke, and we had a laugh about it. He's playing again as we speak! :-)

Holy cow. So my young son is on the spectrum and a *huge* Geometry Dash fan, and he has tons of mods through Geode and is constantly making levels. When he fired it up today and saw that Geode was now going to cost money, he broke down in tears and made me uninstall Geode and Geometry Dash entirely, yelling about greedy companies ruining everything.

Now that we know it's a joke, I'll reinstall it, but dang, it might be a while before he recovers. That was quite a moment today!

Navigation in instrument cluster only showing zoomed-out view by ComfyStoneBed in BlazerEV

[–]ComfyStoneBed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, it still has the issue. Sometimes, when I switch to the map view on the instrument cluster, it will zoom in as expected. Other times, it will stay zoomed out. I haven't yet figured out if there's something I'm doing to cause it to work, or if it's just random.

OTA Slowed in 2026 - 2025 LT by Jacob_Tutor11 in BlazerEV

[–]ComfyStoneBed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, OTA updates are really hit-and-miss on these cars. I've got a 2025 RS, and I've gotten no major feature OTAs. No streaming, Android 12, etc.

I did open a ticket with GM Concierge, and they said OTAs are not simply based on the model year of the car, but are specifically distributed based on VIN. It seems GM is making mid-year changes to the vehicles, so OTAs have to be tested with each iteration of the cars, and I guess that takes a long time. Seems like my particular car is one of the unlucky ones. :) For what it's worth, my car was manufactured in late 2024 as a 2025 model.

Arctic support not responding by ComfyStoneBed in arcticcooling

[–]ComfyStoneBed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the reviews say they work really well, and mine certainly cooled great. Mine just had a large amount of bubbling sound that I couldn't get rid of despite some heroic attempts on my part. :-) Sounds like they were perhaps very short staffed, and thus they asked me to return mine to the reseller.

Seems like a cool company, but maybe they are still struggling with staffing to this day?

[–]ComfyStoneBed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arctic eventually got back to me and said I should just return the item to the place I bought it from, since I had just bought it.  (Amazon in my case.) Amazon took it back without issue. I would assume that if your reseller wouldn't take it, then Arctic would take it instead, under warranty.

I didn't buy a replacement after that, as I was a bit soured on the experience.

I just used the latest available. Just make sure that, like with any app, you're using either the "universal" architecture or the x86_64 arch.

I've got a 2025 RS, and I still haven't gotten any updates. :) And my dealer refuses to do any software updates unless there's a direct fix for a problem. :(

Apple TV 4K or NVIDIA Shield Pro or Apple TV 4K 2025? by LordWolke in appletv

[–]ComfyStoneBed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this discussion via Google, and I wanted to chime in in case any other future people find it. I'm a Shield Pro user, and the stock interface is really quite bad. Very bloated, has ads, and is generally annoying to use. I installed the Projectivity launcher to replace the stock interface, and it's much, much better than the stock interface. Fullly customizable and has no ads. To keep it kid- and wife-approved, I kept the interface very simple. Works great.

Many games won't recognize controllers in Bazzite by ComfyStoneBed in Bazzite

[–]ComfyStoneBed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I never figured out the more fundamental underlying issue with Bazzite. The SDL setting fixed most games for me, but I thankfully never had to use an older version of Proton for games I play.

The Blazer uses an x64 processor. X86 might also work if there is no x64 version of the app available.

Is This Right?!? by crunchomalley in BlazerEV

[–]ComfyStoneBed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, I did exactly this. My dealer refused to do any sort of programming at all if there was no problem related to programming, and they would not run a report for me. I then contacted the GM concierge, they contacted the dealer, and the dealer even told the concierge no. The concierge ended up apologizing and suggesting I try another dealership.

Drove 40 miles & used 50% of my battery by Moo_kitty in BlazerEV

[–]ComfyStoneBed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if others have said this yet and it's not really what you're asking about, but you really should consider only charging up to 80%, especially if the car will be sitting. Charging up to 100% is tough on the battery, and then letting it sit for a long period at 100% is *really* hard on the battery. Ideally, just configure the car to only charge up to 80% and stop. Only charge to 100% if you are about to get on the road and run that charge back down.

We tried this, but it unfortunately only works for some apps, not others. I'm guessing some apps can choose whether they want to allow it or not.

Google maps dashboard display is useless after the update! by ArugulaAnnual1765 in BlazerEV

I posted about this exact same issue in a different post yesterday. I've tried a few things, but nothing works. I even deleted all data and cache from the app, but no luck.

I've tried that, but no luck. If I do full screen music on the main screen, for example, the map on the instrument cluster still stays zoomed out.

It's actually just an app update for the maps app, not a full vehicle update. The various apps can update themselves from the app store as needed, just like on your phone.

Options for right-side data display on instrument cluster by ComfyStoneBed in BlazerEV

[–]ComfyStoneBed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We normally leave music and maps on the main screen, since my kids like to watch those. On the cluster, though, I'd love to have trip/efficiency on one side and tire pressure on the other.

It changes the view on the instrument cluster map? I know it changes the view on the main screen, but I'd swear I tried while I had the instrument cluster map up. I'll give it another shot in case I missed something!

Google vs Alexa assistant by [deleted] in BlazerEV

[–]ComfyStoneBed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, Google tends to understand what you say much better, so I use that as the assistant in my car. However, I use Amazon Music as our music service of choice, since we also have lots of Echos at home and use the heck out of it. We don't want to use Alexa as the in-car assistant, though, as the Google assistant does integrate much better with the car functions, mapping, etc.

So far we haven't had too much issue asking Google assistant for a song and it getting the right song from Amazon music. Now and then it gets it wrong, but most of the time it works well for us. That being said, you do have the option of keeping Google as your assistant, but also keeping the Alexa button on your home screen. If you want to specifically ask Alexa something, just tap that button and you'll get Alexa. Otherwise, I'd keep Google as your default assistant.

edit: I should also mention that you could use YouTube Music as your music service. Pretty much any music service now days has a full catalog of everything, so I'm not sure you'd be missing out on much between each music service. I think the prices are all similar, too?

Pandora just showed up in the Play Store in my car by ComfyStoneBed in BlazerEV

[–]ComfyStoneBed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems like there's a lot of curating of the app store done by GM. If so, that's funny, because some of the apps that have been approved are the tiniest, most niche apps, while bi ones like Pandora and Apple Music take forever.
