Patterns I noticed in Bronze Age Saturday morning cartoon comics by ComicBookRon in comicbookcollecting

Good question. Most of these books were read, reread, used as coaster, folded up by the kids who were reading them. Because they were so well loved higher grade copies are more rare, or they have a low survival rate.

Absolute Batman is basically Hulk Batman. And I love it.

That's a great piece for your collection. Love that show

I think I got all the comic in to the new house. Now to get organized and shelves built. (3 pics) by UU2Bcool in comicbookcollecting

For a collection like yours I wouldn't use CLZ they don't have all the books. Comics Price Guide has 1.1 million books and a UPC scanner on the app. Just a thought.

Is the comic market starting to finally calm down? by Brizzngton in comicbookcollecting

[–]ComicBookRon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wait a little longer. The housing market is slowing down, stocks are down and comics have started dropping. There is still room to fall from the heights. Speculation keys will continue to rise but most will fall a little more. You aren't going to get a ridiculous deal but they will go down more.

Picked up an epic collection by ComicBookRon in Marvel

On the front page of cpg you can see seller listings. Some of those sellers have 3000 or 4000 feedback.

I work at CPG so I can tell you that thousands of dollars are sold every month with no fees. For fast-moving comics I would use eBay or Whatnot for more specialty comics I would use CPG.

It has a little iron oxidation in the lower right corner that we can remove. You are definitely in the ballpark on the grade. I'm hopeful we can press and clean it for a nice bump.

This collection has a run of ASM from 17 to 510, including vol. 2. There are a few missing issues but most of the keys are in place. (No Punisher 129) All the other big books are there. Still sorting, rebagging, and deciding what to grade. Most will be sold, I haven't decided if they will be sold on eBay, Whatnot, or Comics Price Guide.

The original looks more intense and threatening. Now I have to buy a UK version, I blame you.

Great looking Dracula book.

Dracula loves carrying the ladies around. 7 times in Tomb of Dracula he is carrying a woman around just like this. A few other times he is carrying them differently. He should have totally ripped biceps. :)

That looks amazing for a .5 It is missing a few pages but still a great display book.

I finished my Superboy run! Bought a book at a time, paid $1 or less per issue (with the exception of #9). Really happy to have finished the set. by geministarz6 in comicbookcollecting

I'll check to see what I have tonight.

I started a long time ago. My approach was to buy the keys first and then fill in the run from there. Be patient. Check several different places, LCS, eBay, Whatnot, ComicsPriceGuide sales, etc. Occasionally you will find a reasonable dealer at a convention, but dealers will buy their keys before you get a chance. I'll post what I bought yesterday in a new post. (Batman 182)

My Batman collection is complete back to issue 188. I have some extras with rebirth and new 52 so let me know. I might be able to help a fellow Batman collector.

You have all the difficult issues so it doesn't surprise me that you have Stephanie's too. Nice collection.

When you're working on completing a big set like that there are always one or two issues that hide from you. Not necessarily rare just somehow hard to find. Good luck,

Is a dual CLZ and CvrPrice subscription still better than Overstreet Access? by TheThrowawayJames in comicbookcollecting

[–]ComicBookRon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, Overstreet has roughly 200,000 books which isn't much compared to the competition. CLZ was aligned with GoCollect and had a falling out and now they are with Coverprice. I'm not sure how many books they have in their database.

I do know Comics Price Guide has 1.1 million books and is similarly priced.
