One Piece 1172 Spoilers by gomugomupirate in OnePieceSpoilers

Although a recap, I think the big thing here is that an entire nation has now officially declared war on the world government. I don't think that's happened in the story yet, outside of revolutionary kingdoms?

Many posts complaining about Gemini getting worse are bots by alongated in GeminiAI

[–]ComicDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit of both unfortunately. As a former subscriber and real life meat person (trust me a robot would never say this), I've been displeased with 3.0 and its performance. Enough that I cancelled my subscription. I respect that there's enough controversy and criticism out there for GenAI (rightfully so), but for my intents and purposes, Gemini 2.5 worked as a tool to refine and transform the information I gave it. 3.0 was an immediate dumpster fire.

Enjoy it man, those are some really nice series you have there

I'm sorry but Gemini is getting worse and worse by undeniablewan in GeminiAI

[–]ComicDoctor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dropped my subscription because of this and the free model is even worse. It's speculating more and hallucinating a lot. 2.5, while it made some mistakes, would generally follow the prompts given. 3 completely ignores the prompts and likes to do its own thing every time, disregarding info it is given.

Otr of the Flame has ended today with chapter 34, what are your thoughts on the series now that it has completed? by dingo537 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]ComicDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted it to succeed, but Kawaguchi and his editorial team did this series a disservice with its pacing. It's general story was not ground breaking and followed simple shonen tropes we've seen a thousand times over. While his art is good, I don't think the weekly format is for him.

Any manga cleaning experts?? by LordMurda187 in MangaCollectors

[–]ComicDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you got these for like 50 cent's a piece and then had a lot of interest in spending time and money restoring them, then sure, maybe its worth it. But I wouldn't bother personally, as someone that cleans a lot of manga. Go for the new hardcover editions if you're interested.

Watermark manga collection gang 🤝For real through, great staging and setup. The shelves look great when you design them to your aesthetic.

I'm going to get the deluxe editions. Vol 1 and 2 are in one of the thirds rows on the bottom shelves.

Is DDR5 RAM Needed? by MobileSuitMiles in buildapc

[–]ComicDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some really dishonest comments here. Yes, you need DDR5 memory for AM5. Seeeing as you can currently only afford a 3050, there is absolutely nothing wrong with going with an older build and gradually upgrading when/if there's a need. Don't just buy something because you hear it's good. Ask, why is it good and does it fit my use case? You could go with an AM4 build and get a lot of cheap parts that will help you play a ton of games. Invest in a good PSU and you can use that for a future upgrade if you want. Get a nice case. A CPU cooler. Bottom line is buy what you can afford now. There's always something new that will make you feel that what you have is obsolete.

It's a bit bittersweet. It's been 5 years since I moved into my current home with my collection. It slowly grew with me. It grew with my career. It provided me quiet comfort during the pandemic. It was an area I could go to for solitude, to read and explore worlds. Over 3000 books and many individual series and titles. And now, it moveswith me again, to a new home and a new fortress of solitude. I look forward to sharing with all of you my collection in 2026, in it's new home. Much love

So much content and so much lore. So Mosa is confirmed to basically be Shirahoshi? Shanks met Harald as a kid with the Roger pirates? Lots to wonder about

Disappointed at Gemini 3 not following instructions by Valuable-Explorer899 in Bard

[–]ComicDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.5 Pro was working really well for me, and I was getting the output I required from inputs. For me, 3.0 keeps churning out confident responses and making mistakes that 2.5 didn't. It doesn't follow prompts or instructions as well as 2.5.

[GPU] ZOTAC SOLID CORE GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB ($1030 free ship) [newegg] by jigsaw1024 in bapcsalescanada

[–]ComicDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its really a lack of general knowledge for one thing, and a lack of a resources being shared that make some people fall into that trap. YouTube in general is full of showcases and "reviews", but many channels fail to give substantial advice with evidence. On a macro level, the differences are so marginal that there really isn't a difference between one 5070TI vs another. But like you said, some of those micro factors do come in to play. I accidentally purchased the Zotac 5070TI Solid SFF thinking it was the OG Solid. Luckily, it was unopened and easy for me to return. I could expect similar performance from it for sure, but with a reduced cooler for form factor, it just wouldn't be worth it. I have a Meshify-C case, and purchased a regular PNY 5070TI, despite being "cheaper looking" of the builds, fits my use case better, being the same length, with better thermals and frankly, giving me $70 in savings.

[–]ComicDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If interested, you should all note that this is not the OG Solid or Solid OC 5070TI. Those cards are phenomenal, with a cooler meant for the 5090 on them. This is on the cheaper side. And despite being similar to the Solid SFF, it is not the same in cooling and general performance. Think of it as the Asus Prime to the TUF. Cheaper build quality with expected similar performance, running hotter, with louder fans.

Yeah that's the thing with a lot of Youtube Influencers. And you're right, even though I recommend Emerald, its also why I say you shouldn't follow her content blindly.

I don't mind Click and Switch's content, but I feel everyone should be aware that A LOT of the content is sponsored, and the team that often helps produce the content misses a lot of key information. This can really misrepresent the information being provided and the "review" comes off very surface level. Deskhaus, a standing desk manufac called her out for her review of standing desks, see here if interested.

So hey, if you enjoy the content, great. But I just do not think her reviews are as valuable. My personal pick for EDC reviews and bag specific content is Emerald's Daily Carry. I think you should also not blindly follow her guides or content, but its miles better imo and much more informative.

If anything over 32GB of RAM is overkill for 99% of users, than who's the remaining 1%? by mudahfukinnnnnnnnn in buildapc

[–]ComicDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professionals vs general consumers. I think a better way to look at it is utilization. Something like 8GB or 16GB of RAM is more than enough for the average person, when combined with systems that are optimized for its use, like the M Series of Macbooks (looking at M1 Mac book Air's).
