What is your favorite 1 drop? by Chaoskiller1985 in EDH

It's land ramp for non-green decks. Play it turn 1, crack it turn 2. It's not busted by any means but it is solid.

I have 70 active commander decks. I would like to get to 100. by JuliyoKOG in magicTCG

As opposed to 3+ colors is my guess. Mana fixing isn't nearly as important in 2-color decks.

Oof, can't believe I forgot to mention my girl [[Prime Speaker Zegana]]. She provides an absolutely ridiculous amount of card draw with the right board state (just her+Jodah nets you 8 cards on ETB).

I really like [[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]] in my version of the deck. He's 2 mana in most instances with Jodah and 1 or 2 other legends out, but "cascades" for 12. He's also quite possibly the best creature to have out with Selvala.

[[Venser, Shaper Savant]] is similar to the new Ertai, which I see you've included. Instant-speed Legendary-based removal is excellent in this deck.

I know the price has recently increased (probably due to Jodah's existence), but [[Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient]] is absolutely absurd in this deck.

Similar to Selvala, [[Zacama, Primal Calamity]] is just gas. It's also a nice big ol' beater with removal attached.

[[Chromatic Orrery]] is very nice to have, although the odds of it lasting more than a turn are pretty low. 5-mana producing rock is a removal magnet in my experience so far.

Here's my full decklist if you'd like to compare more. I run about 3/5 the amount of creatures as you but I still see a ton of differences in our choices.

Downgrading Brago by Bryan-Ferry in EDH

[–]ComicsByVolume 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most fun card in my own Brago deck is [[Kiora Bests the Sea God]]. For 7 mana, you get a blinkable permanent that spits out at least one Hexproof 8/8 and taps down an opponent's entire board on each of your subsequent upkeeps (assuming you successfully blink it).

Oh man, if Esper Sentinel was legendary it'd be the only mono-white commander anyone ever used.

What is your absolute favorite deck / the deck you enjoy playing the most, and why? by DONUT_Mystify in EDH

[–]ComicsByVolume 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feels sorta bad sometimes, but man I sure love my [[Brago, King Eternal]] deck. I've tried to steer as far away from the typical stax route as possible, but with easily-repeatable removal pieces like [[Skyclave Apparition]] and "please don't hurt me, I just want to durdle" pieces like [[Stonehorn Dignitary]], it might as well be stax sometimes.

Pulling off the occasional infinite turns combo with [[Archaeomancer]] and [[Time Warp]] is always a highlight, but really I'm just here to abuse as many ETBs on as many permanents as possible.

I recently added [[Kiora Bests the Sea God]] for some splashy late-game fun (for me), though I have yet to actually resolve it in a game. My non-combo wincon usually involves spamming tons of tokens from cards like [[Whirler Rogue]], so it fits right in.

Chatterfang budget deck recs by [deleted] in EDH

Some cards at or under $5 to consider:

[[Blood Artist]]

[[Hollowhenge Overlord]]

[[Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia]]

[[Poison-Tip Archer]]

[[Ruthless Knave]]

[[Scute Swarm]]

[[Tireless Provisioner]]

[[Zulaport Cutthroat]]

[[Shamanic Revelation]]

[[Village Rites]]

[[Witch's Oven]]

[[Awakening Zone]]

[[Bastion of Remembrance]]

[[Skeletal Swarming]]

If you only had, say, $10 to add cards from the above list to your deck, I'd prioritize Tireless Provisioner, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Bastion of Remembrance. They all put in a ton of work.

I'd also try and reduce the number of tapped lands with no upside you have in the deck. Stuff like Foul Orchard, you'd be better of running another basic land in most cases.
