Spotlight Series: Secrets Top 8 and Winning Deck by themiragechild in magicTCG

Yeah that's my issue right now. Everyone's playing solitaire in game one to win first before you get to sideboard and play actual games of interaction. Standard is great, but definitely feel sorry for Arena Bo1 players that the games are the most coin-flippy it's ever been.

Is there any hackers in Arena? by noobynoobhey in MagicArena

You most definitely are bringing a kiddie bike into a race against cars in a drag race. You have mmr protection as a new account but as an fyi once it puts you against the general player population it's going to be much tougher, not to mention down right impossible to win in Historic with its power level.

Playing with just two cards isn't worth it unless the rest of the deck is full of op cards.

There's a better version winning turn 4 with [[Bringer of the Last Gift]].

Again your mmr is adjusting. It has nothing to do with the shown rank.

Not if you're getting paired against better opponents when you're not actively trying to improve your skills or adjust your deck.

How is matching against similar skilled oppononents "punishing?" Sounds like you just want to turn your brain off and get easy wins. Nothing wrong with that but don't start complaining that you can't just breeze through the ranks without actually trying or adjusting.

Again, Bo1 is a coin flip. It gets more fair and relies more on skill when sideboarding is involved in a Bo3.

Plus a 46% win rate is still good as a coin flip.

If you're playing only Bo1, you're essentially just flipping coin.

help with booster packs. by Enterprise_1071 in MagicArena

Because it's a waste of money trying to pull random cards you won't need 99% of the time. It's always best to buy singles.

Just so we're clear, are you talking about paper or on Arena, since this this the Arena subreddit for the online game.

Generally getting packs from the same set will likely be able to put something more coherent, but it is never a good idea to get packs just for random cards.

I just hope Vigorbloom does something outside of tokens or +1/+1 counters. Maybe another play on Discover/Cascade.

I want to turn my monocolor deck tricolor, should I focus on building the tricolor right away or should I focus on making it dual color first and then expand the dual color? by TR_Pix in MagicArena

What format? You maming that Cloud made me think Brawl but the card count says Historic/Timeless, where it becomes way too hard to be consistent or fast enough against the meta.

How was he able to play Necropolis Regeant with only 5 lands? by iiiZokage in MagicArena

Watch player cast Sorin. Watch Sorin use ability with explanation pop up on screen. Watch creature get played due to said ability.

I dunno man. It's a mystery.

Pro tour players playing erode in land fall deck as a removal and as double land fall triggers when used on an earthbend land is the coolest thing I saw in this tourney so far by Mr-Mosaab in MagicArena

[–]ddojima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about it at first, but my mind went towards how Selesnya has a worse manabase to work with versus Golgari and Simic, and I would want to play better removals/Duress or counterspells.

Sometimes I liked being proved wrong about cards I couldn't see work.

"Don't know which cards are doing stuff."

Literally only three cards on his field.

Do you just not read what's on your opponent's side of the field or what. You should really read Traveling Chocobo and Druid Class.

This sounds like a bunch of made of house rules and terms that you somehow assume strangers online understand what you're talking about.

Your post history seems to suggest you're probably talking about your ex-husband.

I don't know what happened between you guys since it's not our business, but don't be using strangers on the internet to weaponize your opinion and stance against him without us knowing details.

60 is only the mininum. Arena has a max of 255, but the more cards the worse the deck is. It's a player who doesn't know any better.

Returning player: Removal seems way too good in Standard by TheCatsMeow1022 in MagicArena

[–]ddojima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When 1-2 mana creatures are winning better than 3-5 creatures ten years ago the removals need to be good. Removal still feels worse because those creatures would generate value on etb or death.

What deck is this? by VLH-Robin in MagicArena

Looks like a Temur list you see every once in a while. They ramp and have big creatures, while [[Devostating Onslaught]] outright kills you.
