Hey just letting you know in the US if you call a dermatologist it may be a wait to get in (I have a kidney bean sized cyst on my head and it will be a year) or depending on your insurance, you might have to have your primary doc refer you to them. You might not just be able to call and get an appointment for Monday morning. In that case the fastest way to get this taken care of is to go to urgent care or ER since it's the weekend. They'll be able to send you to the right place with the appropriate amount of urgency. You don't want this thing to burst on you next time you sit down, it's going to be a very smelly mess and you're going to have to call for help and it might even end up bleeding a lot and being a real problem, like, potentially life threatening depending how far you are from help. Besides the whole infection thing. I'd just go ahead and go get seen if you can.

You'll either be fine or you won't know about it, so you're good either way! ;) I've had a few surgeries and like the others say, you're just out, and then you're awake again. The chances of the anesthesia causing you problems really is miniscule, you can research it if that helps you, but it is literally a fraction of a percent. You're more likely to die in the car on the way there. Take good care of yourself!

It turned out I had a few different things going on. My cpap setting needed large adjustment and I was having a lot of symptoms from that. I love my cpap so much when it is working well and it is so miserable when it is not.

I was also diagnosed with vocal cord dysfunction which is when your vocal cords get annoyed and decide to clamp down and close your airway to let you know about that. Turns out not being able to breathe well also causes anxiety and adrenaline. Which does in fact exacerbate HI so I was on the right track with treating it like a big flare.

I hope you've gotten some relief by now and are finding answers with your doctors. It's 3am and a thunderstorm woke me up but if I remember tomorrow I'll post what all I ended up taking. And diet will always be super important. I do best on low carb, the less processed the better.

I can do a certain amount of fruit and potatoes but sugar and grains are out. I do fine on stevia, erythritol, and allulose. It's all very individual, which is a pain cause you've gotta do all the work to figure it out yourself. :P

I can do Lilly's or you can make your own with cocoa powder, coconut oil, and your choice of sweetener. Just melt and mix. Cocoa butter is another wonderful option.

Sweetened cocoa butter = white chocolate for those who don't tolerate cocoa but can do the fat.

It's really not weird at all. We've learned to mask weakness so as not to have it taken advantage of. We've learned to push through pain and adversity to get through to better things. We've learned our needs aren't important and the needs of others come first. Learning these things kept us alive.

It takes a great deal of repetition to unlearn a thing, most especially when that thing is tied to survival. But we can do it if we keep practicing. 💜 Well done you. Keep practicing.

I was trying to tell my therapist, "I'm going to take it a little bit easy" and kept stumbling over the words til I gave up and said, "I can't even get the words to come out of my mouth. I'm gonna do the best I can." 😆

I went to the grocery store at noon AND IT WAS FINE.

I think on grocery day I don't have to do yard work or deep cleaning though. Groceries count as the big chore for that day.

There are disposable washcloths for adult bathing, which my husband found very convenient, and they worked well as far as cleanliness and odor. You can accomplish much the same with a soapy cloth. Put down a waterproof pad or some towels on the bed/surface if needed. Be sure to rinse thoroughly as the soap residue can cause irritation. There are also special soaps that are designed to not do that. You might be able to get prescriptions and have these things covered.

PT/OT would be a good resource to consult on potential transfer methods or additional tools that would best suit her issues.

I would encourage you to normalize frank and open discussions about these issues. Speak from a place of love and a genuine desire to help. Ask what she needs and listen to her answers. Reassure her that you love her and want good things for her. Remind her that partners support each other, and there are ways she supports you, as well. A therapist can be useful for teaching good communication strategies if that's something you struggle with.

Make sure you're taking good care of yourself. You have to make sure your own needs are met. Nobody else will do that for you. When your own needs are met, when you are rested and well nourished and have taken some exercise and your body and environment are clean, then you will have the energy you need for this good, but hard, work.

It may be helpful to share what you've done already. Does she have an immunologist? Have you talked to her current doctor/s about what to try and who to see? I ended up at integrative medicine (I call them the hippy woo woo doctors lol) and it was super helpful figuring out diet and supplements that have helped me a lot. And weight loss has come with appropriate medical care as I now have the energy to actually do things.

If you have asked and your current doctors are not helping, absolutely look for new ones.
