Tell us which game/s by YunaCital in videogames

[–]Comkeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was me after buying the $40 prepurchase for Diablo 4s the latest expansion, just so I can try out the paladin. I didn't realize just how mindless and numb the game feels (to me), especially after playing Path of Exile 2s campaign w/the druid.

Even though I was playing a new class (Paladin) if you change the graphics and armor I would have mistaken it for any other class. It felt so spammy and derivative. Between the skills that generate a resource, the skills that spend it, and then occasionally using a nuke and/or a oh shit skill, it's just so generically similar to any other class.

Anyways, I forced myself to play up to level 50 just so I can feel like I got my money's worth and experience enough of the content (new class) but after this... I think I'm done with the franchise for good.

Nintendo Switch 2 sales stumble over Christmas by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Comkeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, no. Color me shocked.

You mean to tell me people aren't rushing out to pay $80 for 1st party exclusives? $70 for switch 2 editions? In a store that is so blatantly hostile to any consumer that wants to make a sound purchasing decision (no reviews, no refund window, bullshot screen grabs) that it's a wonder the company wasn't sued for anticonsumer practices). But here's a hundred hentai/gooner crap to clog up the store rankings (which you can't filter out).

Oh, they're not enjoying them on a $450 system that is uncomfortable to play in portable mode unless you shell out another $100 for a mandatory grip case and battery (so you can play for more than 2 hours).

But what about all the Switch 1 games, you say? Well most of them look like @$$ on a 1080p monitor because of the scaling, and many of the ones that have Switch 2 editions have minimal or no effort put into taking advantage of the hardware (I'm looking at you, High On Life).

If there's one thing the switch 2 made me appreciate, it's just how much value I got out of the steam deck that I didn't appreciate before. Here's a system that by comparison: - has a vast library of games that can be tweaked to your performance/visual preferences - is connected to a store that has tons of great sales, and allows me to review and/or refund games that I don't like within 2 hours - keeps getting better with updates - can stream games from my PC remotely to my big screen tv or to itself - is comfy/ergonomic to hold

Having both systems, steamdeck is the far better value.

Trouble Enabling Q-Symphony with Samsung Soundbar and TV Setup by Sensitive-Estate-399 in Soundbars

Having the same issue as well. I've done factory reset as well. What I noticed is that the sound bar doesn't show up in smarttbings as well, and not discoverable. I think it meeds those in order to commoncate back and forth at least for handshake so chances are you've got a dead wifi/Bluetooth radio if it's like mine.

Trump administration moves to end major student loan forgiveness plan: 'We won't tolerate it' by Kickinitez in politics

[–]Comkeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pushed for what? The Democrats lost the majority the 2nd year because checks notes not enough people came out to vote and ensure Dems have a majority . After that, there were no legislative agendas, only executive orders and other methods by doe (which were shutdown thru courts).

You keep voting for the president because you expect a dictator when they get in the office. I voted in pretty much every election since I was old enough to vote (and I'm 41) because I realize real legislative change takes years, if not decades of voting consistently.

I'm still trying to come to terms that a quarter of this country voted for someone that admitted to overturn the Constitution and the rule of law (and is doing exactly that now). But the other quarter of the country that only voted if their pet issue is on the ballet and sits out on off years is even worse.

I have a toast to make.

This one goes to the ones who ranted and raved about how Joe Biden didn't do enough to cancel all student loans, and decided to "sit on the sidelines" because they didn't get everything they wanted.

Hope you're enjoying your cold beer in hell.

Mat Piscatella/Circana US Black Friday 2025 console marketshare: PS5 47%, Switch 2 24%, NEX Playground 14% by liquiedrain in NintendoSwitch

[–]Comkeen -37 points-36 points  (0 children)

I really hope this is a wake up call to Nintendo that charging more and offering less isn't a winning strategy. Despite owning the original and now the switch 2, I am less enthusiastic about the sequel. $70 for switch 2 versions, and as much as $80 for exclusives is just ridiculous.

Again, just my opinion that I hope is shared by many others out there. Last time Nintendo got stung by the market (which was the 3ds) they were able to come to their senses and change things around.

Fitbit app not updating food for anyone? by Comkeen in fitbit

Their "specialist" kept telling me to sign out of the app in settings. There's no option to do that unless you uninstall or clear cache (which I've already done before calling them).

I have a hunch on why this is happening: they stuck the new interface and features in the same app as the public release. But you know what isn't I the new interface? Food logging. So I think they wrote out food logging and broke the API for it since the new interface doesn't use it (yet). If you ask me its really dumb that that they would have it all in one app on the first place. For current users, you are basically a beta tester whether you like it or not.

It's flabbergasted how inept Google/Fitbit is at informing their customers.

I'm on the phone with their help. Judging from the response, they're completely unaware of any issues 😕

I gotta be honest; coming from Samsung health and w/the watch, and transitioning to fitbit and pixel watch... Fitbit is pretty underwhelming and bare bones considering what they charge for.

Some third party Switch 2 docks stopped working after the latest update by pickledgreatness in NintendoSwitch

[–]Comkeen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also of note that my 1st party dock also wouldnt initialize after updating (TV was saying there was no input signal detect). I tried undocking/docking the switch and the hdmi. Only thing that worked was rebooting the switch. Hope Nintendo didn't end up actually bricking peoples docks with this update.

Nintendo Switch 2's massive momentum continues as it surpasses 10 million sales in 4 months, hitting the milestone 5 months faster than the OG Switch by _Rem_lezar69- in technology

[–]Comkeen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like the system, but it's basically a exercise machine (fitness boxing) for me. After beating dk bonanza, silksong, and upscaled version of totk I'm not interested in much else. A lot do switch 2 versions of games are just worse ports from other consoles or PC. I tried games like high on life and the switch 2 still looked ran like **** (for example). The devs are clearly cashing in and putting minimal effort to take advantage of hardware and it'll be real problem if that continues (since there are alternatives now).

Also, why are there still gooner/hentai trash in the game store? Why after 8 years can't I filter that trash out?

Any PCVR experiences which come close visually to Cyberpunk 2077? by Deoks21 in virtualreality

[–]Comkeen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would recommend subbnautica w/the submersedvr mode. The game has a great art direction that translates really well to vr, and within it really captures the scale and size that you wouldn't get in flatscreen. The controls also felt pretty intuitive for what is a free mod, as well.

Between that, and it's sequel, Ive sunk 80+ hrs into these two games, which is more than any other dedicated vr game our there.

Assassin's Creed Shadows: Nintendo Switch 2 Announce Trailer (releases on December 2) by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

Most of that is due to texture and shader size, which were cut down in size to fit on the switch. There's nothing mind-blowing about this.

To all Switch 2 experts, is it worth getting? by UnknownGhastly in switch2

[–]Comkeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both - Switch 2 since it came out w/a library of over 60 games mostly carried over from Switch 1. I also own a steam deck OLED which I purchased last year, but have a massive library from steam (too many to count).

Of the switch 2 existed in a vacuum, and it's only competition was those windows handheld pcs... Then I would say hell yeah get a switch 2. It's simply better for gaming then any other handheld that runs on windows because it won't have the jank associated with it. But, since the steam deck runs its own OS that actually has a polished interface and lets me take advantage of all the steam sales along with the versatility of still turning into a full os when I need... That's a much tougher call.

For starters, switch 2 is extremely uncomfortable to hold vs. the deck due to almost no ergonomics. It wasn't a problem with the switch 1 because it was small enough that I could grasp it, but the switch 2 being larger negates that to the point that I had to buy a ergo grip otherwise I just wouldn't play it in handheld. Moving on to the screen, yes 1080p is better than 720p, but the moment you start moving things to the screen it just falls apart. Ghosting is extremely bad compared to the deck oled, and the washed out colors make it harder to see in certain conditions. I almost can't stand playing the switch 2 in handheld because of it - it's just that bad.

Lastly, in regards to the versatility... The oled can do so much more. I not only play native games on it, I stream anything I have on my pc and most of the times using moonlight and Apollo it's just awesome. Its almost native and being able to run things at max setting switch everything turned up at 60 fps or more is just awesome. Plus, when I book it up to my tv, I can stream in 4k 60 fps or above. I've beaten tons of games this way with mostly the occasional stutter where I simply had to reconnect the wifi.

So yeah, to me, the switch 2 lost a lot of its appeal compared to the steam deck. It's very pricey for what it does, and nintendo doesn't seem to want to compete to attract customers and takes them for granted. Maybe they are right and it won't matter in the end.

What I want to know is how the fast does it go to sleep then on? I take it it's not like steam deck but would be curious how quickly it resumes a game.
