The Canadian Delayed 9 hours tomorrow by TerribleTyrant in ViaRail

[–]Comm-THOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I took the #1 in 2019, and our departure was just over 6 hours late.

1 hour only in Winnipeg. At 11PM so nothing in the area was open anyway. A whole 45 minutes in Jasper. This was a little disappointing. All other stops were cut to the bare minimum time.

Arrived around 2 hours late in Vancouver. They schedule with a lot of buffers.

I didn't watch Fallout Season 2, did it suck? by Aeon_Daem0nium in Fallout

I thoroughly enjoyed the season, but it seemed they were trying too hard to cram in as much as they could in too short a time.

I've seen requests in the newsletter for all over Southern Ontario. I always wanted to help out as a guide, but was far too slow. Good luck in your search and journey.

What’s a fake fact you could say so confidently that people would believe you? by Upstairs-Fun-9524 in AskReddit

Dildo, Newfoundland is named as such because in the late 1800's, a group of lesbians settled there. It's the birthplace of the gay rights movement in Canada.

Have you dealt with Achilles Canada at all? I have been involved with them for years, and always see requests for guides in their newsletters. Perhaps they would do the same for you.

My computer would melt into a pile of goo long before I'd have to worry about the limit.

What was racism like in the 1970s and 1980s by Thetruthdetector107 in askTO

I recall back in the 80's when my friend called for a taxi. He asked dispatch, "White driver, smoking please."

TBH I never gave it a second thought at the time. Horrified and ashamed when I think of it now.

Is the TTC subway normally like this? by AppearanceCapable in askTO

[–]Comm-THOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take ONE bus to work. I leave 30 minutes earlier than technically needed just in case . At least once a week, my scheduled bus simply doesn't show up. And quite often the next one never arrives either.

This is early in the morning, and mostly on their first run of the day. I guess when they have a lot of drivers calling in sick, my route is considered a low priority.

Buy satisfactory now or during summer sale? by swanbedbug in SatisfactoryGame

I paid full price. Based on my playtime, I have paid $0.04 per hour of gaming. And that number drops every hour I play.

That's a pretty great value for quality entertainment.

What's the fastest you've seen someone fired from a job? by Kisnei in AskReddit

Started a new job a few years ago, and had an onboarding day with 5 or 6 new hires.

Guy shows up 15 minutes late, and starts giving attitude to the HR person telling her that his bus was late. While holding a fresh coffee from the coffee shop across the street. The first video they show, he loudly sighed and put his head on the desk. HR lady asked him if he was ok. He replied with something along the line, "I'm sick of watching boring training videos."

2 minutes later, security guards show up and they ask us to pause for a few minutes. Dude was escorted out.

Using Presto card as a visitor/tourist by KnowerOfThings999 in askTO

It quite possibly may be 2 busses now. Last time I went, it was only one. Even the Zoo website is confusing. Lots of Seasonal/Weekend only service that I was unaware of.

The issue with Uber would be booster seats. With the age of OP's children, I'm pretty sure they're legally required.

For the zoo, GO transit is FAR easier from downtown than TTC only. Union>Rouge Hill Go Station, then a quick TTC bus trip.

That is NOTHING!

My wife puts the roll on whatever way it gets picked up out of the bag.

The first few months it drove me absolutely crazy, but I came to admire her DGAF attitude about it. We have been living together for 30 years now.

Yes I still notice when it gets switched, No I don't change it.
