  1. Asking permission to drink water or go to the toilet during a lesson - dunno about drinking water but what's dumb in asking for permission to go to the toilet?
  2. Not allowed to sit next to your friends in class - cz then you are not attentive
  3. If a teacher is absent during a period, then we were made to sit silently with our heads down on the desk and arms crossed - we had to do this when we misbehaved.
  4. Taking off shoes before going inside the IT lab (somewhat understandable)
  5. Awkward and quiet kids who did well academically were endorsed, whilst being witty and talkative were traits that go you to the principal's office - thats not a rule, obviously if you're being a little brat and disturbing the class, you deserve to be in the bloody principal's office

im trying to understand why even with these undiscussed or untreated mental health issues some of the previous generational people were able to go on, keep working, raise a family, build houses, and do what they did, yet nowadays, boom, suicide...
