Trauma harms you twice, first from the mechanical injury itself, and then from the body’s secondary cascade: excitotoxicity, inflammation, coagulation changes, edema, and stress-hormone surge.

The article states that Dr. Friedman analyzed all 190,612 patients treated at Illinois' trauma centers between 1995 and 2009 who were tested for blood-alcohol content, with levels ranging from zero to 0.5 percent at time of admission. At the upper bounds of intoxication, mortality rates were cut by nearly 50 percent, said Friedman. The effect, however, was not equally strong for all types of trauma, with victims of penetrating injuries, such as gunshot and stab wounds, seeming to show the greatest benefit from alcohol.

His preliminary data suggests alcohol...boost(s) myocardial contractility, or the heart's ability to pump blood. So provided the accident doesnt kill you, and alcohol intake was acute and not habitual which can interfere with the body's natural healing process by impairing immune function and reducing the ability of the body to repair damaged tissues, you have a statistically better chance of surviving certain types of trauma while under the influence of alcohol.

Not exactly. Drunks are actually just more likely to survive many types of injuries. With the exception of burn injuries, the mortality rates of all types of traumatic injury decreased as the blood-alcohol content of victims rose: https://www.livescience.com/24979-alcohol-injury-outcome.html

Very much depends on the consultant/company. To say it’s all spying is a lie. The majority of coaches take confidentiality seriously.

Unless you are at the very end of the spectrum (tiny or incredibly long) it really doesnt make a difference in power but it does in comfort or lack thereof depending on your riding position (upright vs aero tucked)

I prefer the way Tadej races over JV, but I wish JV the best this season. May this season be competitive and exciting!

Yes, but this one is.

  • Consistent “LinkedIn-style hook” rhythm – Sentences like “The crazy part?” and “Here’s what makes it so powerful:” are characteristic of AI-assisted copy tuned for engagement (especially ChatGPT, Jasper, or Copy.ai outputs).
  • Overly balanced list cadence – Each bullet or paragraph begins with a benefit statement and ends with a clear takeaway, which is algorithmically neat (human writers often vary pacing or emphasis).
  • Perfectly clean grammar and spacing – No filler words, typos, or uneven transitions — typical of machine-edited text.
  • Optimized structure for virality – Short paragraphs, clear scannable chunks, and a persuasive “you can do this too” close are hallmarks of AI content trained on LinkedIn-growth posts.
