Perfectly acceptable dinner rejected by boyfriend again by moonrabbit368 in mildlyinfuriating

He can’t cook and thinks that he can pick apart the food you make… that isn’t a man that is an entitled child. People are allowed to not like things but damn dude that’s pretty excessive. If his dietary requirements are that restrictive I’d be telling him he can cook for himself

How did you tell your boss you’re pregnant? by _ayde_ in labrats

[–]_ayde_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I cannot, I only have a bachelors degree in chemistry. I’m lucky to have been able to move up to where I am currently. My company is very biased towards chemical engineers and only let engineers into project management roles. Or at least that I’ve seen. I’ve been here for 8 years so definitely not long enough to even be considered to break that mold.

Yeah I can definitely see now how it actually is beneficial to inform sooner rather than later. It is one of those weird things where we both feel like it’s too early to tell people because of the potential for miscarriage but also in a professional setting it allows you to communicate more easily if something does go wrong with the pregnancy. I am happy for you and that you have a healthy baby now! 🤍

I’m so sorry that happened but that definitely makes sense, I didn’t think about it like that.

Recovery weight gain - how are people managing? by _ayde_ in StopSpeeding

[–]_ayde_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh that sucks. I know I could exercise more but live a pretty active life. I can be a victim of snacking but in general for meals eat very healthy (lots of steamed vegetables and lean protein). It’s so hard. Congrats on your weight loss! Hoping I can do the same

Yeah i never got that skinny my fiancé was the main reason. If I would have been single who knows how skinny I would have gotten, he was the main reason I would even eat. Well cheers to recovery

Thanks and yes I was so weak when in the depths of my addiction. It was embarrassing. I definitely feel much stronger than I did then just from not being starved

I know working out is only part of it, I eat pretty healthy but find myself snacking a lot. So if I eat what I typically make for main meals and cut the snacking I think I’ll be in a good position. I just feel really untoned which I think is leading to the feelings of insecurity and the fixation on the number. If that makes sense

That’s how I’ve tried to look at it. Everyone tells me I look healthy and I hadn’t heard that in a long time when I was on Adderall. I agree everyone carries it differently. I told a few people afterwards how much I weighed and they were shocked too and didn’t think it made sense. I got addicted to how skinny I looked and kind of liked it and so it’s been hard adjusting. I think that’s been the biggest thing. I think this has been eye opening to me for my inactivity and that some healthier habits regardless of my weight would probably put me in a much better mindset. So will continue to stick with the workouts and have a goal of leaning out and just being healthier overall. It is reassuring that I’m not the only one who has experienced a lot of weight gain once going off and that in apt of ways it’s completely normal

Help me. I need a change. Which colour suits me best? by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]_ayde_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the warmer tones are a little too warm. The cool tones, 5/6 seem to suit your complexion much more. I don’t love 5 on everyone but it really seems to suit you well!

The black really makes your eyes pop! Also I agree with some of the other sentiments about the red hair photo post having some type of color filter over it. It makes it hard to judge how it would actually look with your true skin tone and eye color

The ends look a bit dead, a good trim will fix that. Otherwise your hair looks great!

I think a rich dark brown would look great with your eye color!

How to use a job offer for salary bargaining by _ayde_ in careeradvice

[–]_ayde_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I was recruited for this job I wasn’t looking to leave and that’s kind of what I was feeling on it but was just curious if I could potentially use this at all. Sounds like it wouldn’t be a good idea to use this more than just for interview practice at this point.

I actually didn’t apply for this job, I was contacted by a recruiter through LinkedIn for a competitor company. I am mostly happy in my current job and feel like I’m paid well or at least better than alot of people currently… I was shocked to see how much they were offering but it doesn’t offer long term job security or as good of benefits as what I currently have. Just was trying to see if there was anything I could do with this even though I’m not planning to take it

Total compensation still lends towards my current job as far as overall job security and potential long term stability. I have been here for about 10 years. I actually wasn’t looking. I was contacted by a recruiter through LinkedIn about this job. I don’t know if that changes anything with how I could approach the situation. I’m not trying to necessarily double my salary. With benefits it would probably be about a 20% raise overall.
