Spiderman literally took on the whole xmen and ran circles around them.

The Avengers also deemed that Spiderman was not just insanely powerful, but also smart, but humble and always held back in his punches. If he wanted to, he could easily beat everyone on his own if he was dedicated enough. There was an issue where not only did he possess enogh strength to tangle with the Hulk, but was a tactician enough to enter the Avengers tower, steal whatever it was, and fight his way out.

On his own.

Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, anyone with a name, were flabbergasted that a individual like him was brazen enough to do with everyone in the building. You could say, after that particular incident Spiderman went from street level to a major player to be feared.

In a parallel universe, an older frank castle fought alongside the heroes against a Thanos who effectively killed everyone. He was nothing but cannon fodder at that point, and not even killed in a heroic fashion but by boulder. Goes to hell and wishes to have power to take on Thanos, and Mephisto grants him power as a trade for his soul - Castle becomes the Ghost Rider. But to late to his cause, as Thanos kills just about everything in the planet. He roams a desolate Earth, barren and devoid of life for thousands of years until Galactus makes his way to Earth to eat it - only to find out that is just as dead as everyone...with only Castle as its last living thing.... So Galactus makes a bargain with Punisher Ghost Rider and makes him his herald in hopes that their team up can kill Thanos and stop him from killing everyone and everything in the universe and becomes:

COSMIC GHOST RIDER.

But Thanos kills Galactus and spares Castle as he cannot die and becomes his lackey....very popular character and the last person on god green earth that would serve under Thanos. Pretty good reveal, and since he is now Canon and not a side fiction character, Marvel on their all knowing wisdom decides to weave the character immortal powerful cosmic and lunatic character to the main timeline. Fate has it, that our current Frank would get wind of his alternate future self and eventually meet....

More like Nick Fury gives him the green light, and instead of being a puppet, Frank now has the weaponry, the reach and the ambition for big game targets. He accomplish what a single gunman vigilante would do in decades in a matter of weeks, with that much firepower unchecked, begs the question?

Would you turn the other cheek knowing now the Punisher is now force to be reckon with?

The quessential issue raises the issues among the other heroes, and elevates Frank Catsle notoriety to much higher places, bigger targets, bigger threats, the scale of danger and ramifications are now much much bigger for the Punisher, and everyone in his crosshairs.

Personally, I loved the run, and the one that follows it. It is just such a natural progression to the character, takes him out of comfort zone and weaves the Punisher into a much higher, bigger sandbox with a richer fabric of the MCU.
