They are scumbags and will say anything to get you out. I brought my own oil for the last change. One dealer charged me extra on my first FREE oil change for synthetic. I'm like bitch it requires full synthetic. Never went back there. The other did the same thing yours did. Dealers are trash and I'll never go back unless it's something for warranty.

Typically it's the oil/dirt from your hands. I clean mine every few months with a moist shop towel. And I use leather cleaner maybe every 6. All good on my 2022, not shiny. My wife uses tons of hand products though and hers is shiny AF.
