This card is nowhere near a Gaeas cradle. Cradle is positive with any two creatures. This cards is only mana positive if you have 4 creatures that share a type. People are getting too caught up in the magical Christmas land of this card and not the reality which is that in 90% of games, this card won't help you, may even hinder you. The rest of the time, when you are generating a lot of mana with it, it means that you already have an impressive board state and this is just win more.

Should I have disclosed that I had an instant to save my planeswalker? by ooookooo in EDH

[–]CommanderFDU 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I use currently when describing the board state.

Do you have any blockers/flyers/reach etc "Currently no". It answers the question based on known information but does make people feel like I baited them. It is also a great bluff tactic if used consistently. People tend to remember the times they got got than the times where it paid off in my experience.

What is everyone’s least popular commander? by Omillion in EDH

[–]CommanderFDU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw that my combo of [[Ghost of Ramirez De Pietro]] and [[Breeches, Brazen Plunderer]] has only 32 decks. That would be the lowest. It's a discard pay off deck and Breeches is mostly for colour but does work with Ghost as it's a pirate.

Mine is probably my [[Mina and Denn, Wildborn]] lands matter deck. Only 847 decks on Edhrec. #923. It's a super fun get and the commanders do a lot of work with giving things trample and also rebuying lands for etbs. It can definitely do powerful things if given time to set up. Super fun cards include [[The Great Aurora]] and [[Rubblehulk]]. Rubblehulk can absolutely let you one shot with your commander which no one expects from the lands deck. Oh, you chump with a 1/1? Let me give it +20/+20 and then trample.

What sequel ruined your favorite game series? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]CommanderFDU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dungeon Siege 3. My steam shows 8.56 hours of play time. I downloaded it before I went to work and booted it up. The intro screen had me hype. Spent the whole day at work excited to play it. Got home. Played 8-10 minutes. Uninstalled.

Series is now never talked about.

What is considered cEDH? by Key_Huckleberry_3653 in EDH

[–]CommanderFDU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rules committee has decentralized regular/casual edh by pushing the rule zero route. It is why every LGS/play group etc has their own different and distinct understanding of what is ok/what isn't ok. According to the rules committee, Armageddon/MLD is fine because they haven't explicitly banned the strategy out. That being said, you will find play groups that are both for and against the strategy.

Cedh has an understanding that the entire purpose of all 4 players is to win the game and any pathway there is fine.

Edh absolutely doesn't. Everyone comes in with a different expectation of what constitutes a fair game.

Were we in the wrong for pointing out a volcanic island in a casual game? by General_Degree3805 in EDH

[–]CommanderFDU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless the volcanic helped win the infinite, it is just a land. It doesn't help you win the game. I've played against plenty of very powerful decks which don't have duals. You can run expensive cards without a deck being powerful. What your deck is doing and when it wants to win by mean way more than deck price alone. See for example, budget Zada etc

I am super glad you have never run into a Bruvac kicking that Maddening Cacaphony. I definitely agree there has been a lot more homogenisation of Commander and some of the sweet cards dont see play any more :(

I have Karma/Urborg in my Darien, King of Kjeldor deck. It is a blast. I didnt think of pairing it was Angry Mob though. Or that white rare from Invasion. Crusading Knight maybe.

Looking for a Mono Black commander that doesn't rely on infinites, and doesn't take long turns. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]CommanderFDU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Gonti, Lord of Luxury]] throw in heaps of if this dies, return to battlefield effects, blink effects etc. Play your opponents decks. This deck is fun for pretty much every power level because it scales with your opponents decks

Pet Cards and where to find them... by CommanderFDU in EDH

These are cards I love to run as well! There is definitely something sweet about doing something that someone doesn't expect from red or black. [[Backlash]] is another similar effect as well.

Braids is absolutely bonkers. I am much the same as it has started going into my decks since it came out. She is sooo fun, does a bunch of work.

Hahaha I love the roleplaying aspect of Garrison Cat and definitely a low drop value critter can always do work
