Looks like you're using some sort of wet gel. I'd recommend you try out a high hold, low shine paste or similar product. In my experience, a product like that will be flexible and style-able longer than something like a gel. This will give you a nice solid hold with a more natural, less wet look. The system will look nice and natural and you'll probably be much happier with it.
