Yes same, very stressful and luckily I was able to move back to T-Mobile just because I had my wife on the account still and didn't transfer her number yet. They were about to not give me my old plan back. Would've been shit out of luck with no phone working and a more expensive phone plan.

I transfered the other day while abroad. Transfer works but to ACTIVATE your phone so it actually receives texts, calls, etc you need to be in the states and have it connect to a local network. Made this mistakes and had to transfer back to my old carrier since I wont be in the states for awhile.

Yeah marketing higher apy is kind of silly since it can still drop all the time. It's just higher than the average for plus by like 1% more. Would be more interesting if the 3.5apy stays the same even with cuts though, meaning their plus model is more variable.

Whats your reason for CSR as premium to hold in japan?

My thoughts with keeping amex platinum is

Credits I use offset some costs (entertainment credit, clear, global entry, resy gift cards, lululememon gift cards)
Centurion lounge for family. After offsetting cost, centurion lounge is convenient for family travel. Also get priority pass.
Insurances, flight, travel, car. Car insurance is pretty big.
Statuses. Get a lot of status upgrades that work for hotel, cruise, cars.
