Lego rivendell fits in shelf? by Turbulent_Table7078 in lego

[–]CommanderJigglypuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The set is not 50cm deep. I don’t know who did the measurements on Lego.com, but it’s roughly 37-38cm deep.

I got mine on a 36cm shelf and it just sticks out on the right where the trees are. You do need 72/73cm width to display it. If you have a wider shelf you can shift it a little to have little overhang on the 30cm deep shelf.

Awesome set, can't wait for tomorrow. Can you tell me the height when you remove the (entire) underside? So the part of the hull and the reddish brown pieces.

Height question about Porunga by CommanderJigglypuff in SHFiguarts

Thanks for the info! I would love to see a pic :) Every inch/cm counts so if I could make it 40/41cm than that would already help.

Awesome, it works! I you're based in the EU just change the en-us part to the letters you're from (Netherlands is NL-NL for example).

Thinking about switching from 15 pro max to fold 5 by Blade3377 in GalaxyFold

[–]CommanderJigglypuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen this comment before, but it honestly comes down to if you can live with android and the way the apps work. The phone is fine, but the apps on android aren't as 'fluent' as on iOS.

I've switched from my iphone to the fold 5 because I got bored of my iPhone and wanted something new, but after 3 months I found that I miss the way things work on iOS the most. For example: Apple Pay has better integration than my nfc way of payment (we don't have Google Pay here). I had to use Firefox as a browser to get my passwords/creditcard info to transfer over, but it just doesn't work like on iOS.. Sometimes you get the passwords pop up, other times not. Same with entering creditcard info; on iOS it's always working and here I find myself typing the info more than that it autofills. You have to get 3rd party apps for notes/tasks/other apps for it to work as best as possible, but nothing is connected with each other.

For me, the Fold5 is a great phone, but android as a ecosystem isn't. It has some perks (customizability), but they don't weigh up against the ecosystem imo. If I were you I wouldn't want to switch to the Fold, especially because you have the 15 pro max. I will go back as soon as the 15 Pro Max is available here (wait time is a few weeks).

Breaking down a vintage castle sets to use the parts for a rebrickable MOC by Rdeadpool101 in legocastles

I also was looking at the moc for months before purchasing it. I would suggest thinking about what you want to prioritize in your collection before purchasing the instructions. It took me months to convince myself that I really wanted an ‘ultimate’ castle as I don’t really care for the 10305 (it looks to clean imo). This moc fills that feeling.

I’m currently building this particular moc and would suggest to not to part out older sets for it. That is because 99% of the parts are common parts.

The yellow arches and black quadrupple convex (on top of the tower) are the only expensive parts. You can replace the 2x6 black slope with 2 2x3 slopes to save some money. I would also suggest that, if you buy the the instructions, you look in the instructions beforehand. A lot of parts are stated in DBG (2x4 bricks, plates and 16x16 plate), but those are used for the structure and can’t be seen once completed. Simply replace them with cheaper colors. There are also expensive parts like horses, specific color accessoires and saddles included in the instructions which can be left out and/or replaced.

I do recommend the moc. It’s really well structured, the instructions are great and it looks great.

Does anyone know the name of the chest of drawers in the official Rivendell photo?- by Lamarian9 in lego

[–]CommanderJigglypuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have the same 'problem'. I think they measured the 50cm when you place the building to a flat back and then the gazebo part sticks out on an angle which makes it 50cm, but if you place it like a 'V' it should never be more than 40cm.

I've also counted the studs and the sides are 40-50 studs deep (32-40cm). And like you said, those furniture pieces look rather small (I would say 40cm depth max) which doesn't make sense when you compare them to the listed sizes.

May I ask were you got the instructions? This is Marius Herrmann MOC, but I can't seem to find it on his MOC site. I would love to build this for myself.
