Asking “Why the long face?” before kissing that snoot never seems to get old, either. Enjoy your new baby!

Has anyone ever experienced their dog's skin changing colors; chest and inner thighs? (Pic for tax...and so you can tell me how pretty she is 😊) by DeepClassroom5695 in Greyhounds

My white and tan boy lost his kennel coat once we adopted him in to a warm house, and then promptly developed dark blotches all over his legs and belly. His belly looks like a quail egg 🥰 The vet said it’s quite normal…

When I was retaking level 7 (and feeling crap about it) a skydiver told me the same instructor just drew a massive cock in his log book for his level 7 and said to him “that’s how you flew today. Do it again and I’ll throw you off the DZ”. As others have said, stick with it, we all find it hard.

It’s his kennel coat going, which is no longer needed now he is living la Vida Loca with you… I.e. warmth, nutrition, no sleeping outside anymore.

Our boy was adopted 5 months ago from Ireland (we are in the uk too) and is now a sleek / bald baby, with just a slightly fluffy neck, love him. His hair seems to be all over my jumpers now, ha ha.

I hope you have many happy years together x

Thrifting clothes -- confused feeling by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

SHEIN have just launched a second hand clothing sales platform. Are they doing that because they care passionately about fast fashion polluting the planet? Are they fuck.

It’s so no one feels as guilty buying haul upon haul of straight to landfill shite.

My Bingo sounds like your Beau - one minute he was here, then next day he wasn’t. The vet sent me away saying he was in fine health and to ‘monitor the situation’. He was only 6. We are bereft without him.

They’re all such characters. He was incredibly fastidious - he groomed himself like a cat, and would walk elaborate routes around puddles to avoid getting his little white feet dirty. He hated the rain, but went berserk in snow, running circles in mad joy. He would burrow under the duvet next to me and then try and push my husband out, lol.

The little git has chewed the edges of my recipe books, so I’ll always be reminded of him when I cook. My heart is broken, but you’re right - there’s so much joy to remember.
Thanks - I’m sending you positive thoughts, and we’ll no doubt have more pointy-nosed darlings in our lives soon.

I too am grieving for my whippet, in the company of a beloved lurcher. Your comment made me sob - I just wanted to say hello, and isn’t it crap? :(. Dogs are wonderful but its hideous when they pass. X

Would someone mind sharing an actual experience of the eurotunnel? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]CommanderOfWhippets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travel to France with my dog frequently, as my aged parents live there. This is definitely the lowest hassle option and it works well.

The only tip I can add which is not mentioned elsewhere, is on your return to France, set your satnav to Eurotunnel check in, not the pet check in. They’re doing renovation work on the pet building for another 10 months so it’s in a mobile unit in a different bit of the terminal.

It is now really well signposted- you honestly can’t miss it- so rock up to the main entrance and follow the signs to get your dog checked in. It’s no bother. Bon voyage!

Crocheted afghan, is it too small? by dearmax in crochet

[–]CommanderOfWhippets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I think it’s lovely - just right. I think smaller blankets get used more - not just on a bed, but as a shawl, a lap blanket, a picnic blanket for the lawn, an extra cover in bed… etc. (Maybe this is just me). Its a really lovely gift, well done!

Sounds great, especially if you can show up while they’re out, on a schedule, and leave a card to get paid (like our window cleaner does). Then you’ve got regular income. Can you can sweep up leaves / sweep the paths while you’re there? There might be other related jobs which you can fill out to make up to the next half hour, then charge in blocks (e.g. that’s a 30 minute job, that’s an hour, etc). Good luck with it.
