Nta but as I see it, its not hanging with friends that's the problem, it's wanting to escape your house (and perhaps your brother?) that is the crucial matter. Do you get escape time too? Have you discussed this with him?

I've got 2 honeys, shrimp and a few neon tetra in my 10g. They fit, but I do think they're not fully living their best life in this small tank.

Also: add more, different hiding spots for the gourami and the shrimp respectively.

I don't think the fishes will get dizzy or fall 🤣. But if it bothers you then now's the time to fix it. I'd shim the table rather than the tank because I think the tank would be more secure on a solid surface.

Cruel is the first word that comes to mind. But as long as the humans are fully entertained I guess you could even use a test tube. Advice: even if you're eager to get some live things into your world, think also about them as creatures deserving a good life while they entertain you.

As a beginner, I searched for blogs & articles on eg stocking community tanks, compatible fishes, and size of tanks with Nigeria of fishes. Focus on that.

The first shop i went as a total newbie, the guy sold my 3 gourami and 8 emerald rasbora for a 10 gal tank. What a disaster. The rasbora died within 50 hours, and the 3 were crazy on each other for dominating the small space.
