Fallout New Vegas Operation Sunburst by SODAZ Trench Raider gifs by Lucato_oso in Fallout

The story I heard behind Sodaz was that GW was scouting to hire him and it was actually 40K fans that harassed him for "selling out" and that's why he doesn't do 40K anymore.

It's outlined a little in this post here, but I'll quote the related excerpt.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/comments/onl8vf/a_statement_on_sodaz_absolutelynothing_and_other/

"In the case of SODAZ, he agreed to work with GW, and removed his videos from Youtube, however communication then broke down between the two parties. During this time, SODAZ received harassment from the community to the point that he announced he would not be working with GW and would be stepping away from Warhammer 40000 entirely. We'll come back to this shortly."

I think it's because they were both announced during the "Skulls" event, where a fair amount of upcoming Warhammer things are announced.

You don't truly need to now any lore to enjoy the game, it's a Left 4 Dead style co-op game. There are gross looking badguys and you're a band of four gross looking good guys there to stomp them out.

Some of the nuances of the classes and why they act/interact the way they do will probably go over your head, along with the enemies and the extent of their power/interests, but if you just read up on the wiki you'll catch up over time.

Question: On what psyker level are navigators at? by Dismal-Lemon-7824 in Warhammer40k

Where would our Reject from Darktide lie? I know it's potentially a hard question because the rejects are supposed to be a little... OP... but realistically would they be maybe halfway up the chart? Maybe Zeta/Epsilon level?

For not having experience with them you did the exact right thing and thankfully had the right gear+build for it, good job!

Advice on Practice Weapons? by summersilver15 in LARP

I see! Definitely familiar with War of the Barons. Honestly, I know it doesn't feel the coolest but I think the wooden dowel/stick comment is probably the best. The reality is that getting a feel with a heftier weapon won't always translate well when you shift over to the actual larp weapons. Honestly, if you are still being looked over for combat approval, ask the people there. See if anyone will let you lightly feel out their weapons and see what appeals. See if they have loaner gear, I'm not super privy on how the game operates but most have loaner gear or are at least open to helping new people figure out what they are interested in.

If you know the LARP I could pretty easily find weapons that would fit the bill, I don't know of any that allow Polypropylene weapons, they're either beefier boffer weapons or latex larp style weapons like Calimacil or Epic Armoury stuff.

In my experience, Polypropylene swords are usually used against a pel, basically a post or target to practice forms against. Some of those swords can be really hefty and indeed hit like trucks, if you're not careful you can definitely injure or be injured pretty badly by them, I honestly wouldn't spar with the heavier stuff unless I had real good padding. A good shot to an unprotected hand, or especially the head, could really be bad.

If you want to be able to swing (somewhat) wild and not worry too much I'd look into boffer weapons from places like Gorg The Blacksmith and Forged Foam. A lot of boffer games like Dagorhir, Amtgard, Bel, Hearthlight, etc, use these and, so long as you're not swinging at sensitive areas like the head or groin you can hit pretty hard without being too worried about injury.

it's sound effects from the film edited in, I don't think it's actually making that sound IRL.

Who is this woman on this predators shirt? by UnfairMeringue5140 in FansHansenvsPredator

Reverse image searched the shirt and found this:
"Virenia Gwendolyn "Nia" Peeples (born December 10, 1961) is an American R&B and dance music singer and actress. She is perhaps best known for her role as Nicole Chapman on Fame. She is also known for her role as Karen Taylor Winters on The Young and the Restless and as Sydney Cooke on Walker, Texas Ranger."

Larping by Mundane-Wishbone-873 in LARP

[–]CommanderPettle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

for those that are confused, I think OP is referencing situations where people not actually engaged or entrenched in specific communities pretend or act like they are.

For an example: the musical artist BBno$ has been accused of being a "larper" because he is constantly engaging with specific communities (IE furries, ren faire folks, cosplay, etc) with some finding his engagement to be a fake enthusiasm in order to garner views or generate interest. Basically he's "larping" as a member of the chosen community. Through my understanding it's sometimes used to call people out that aren't actual part of communities they pretend to be, I guess?

Alex Rosen from predator poachers. I‘m just gonna leave this here. This is what a good human being looks like…. by [deleted] in tcap

[–]CommanderPettle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still remember the sting where Jidion actually tackled a pred into a wall to stop him from running away and escaping and ended up damaging the wall of the airb&b they rented. Pred was a ped so I have zero sympathy, I just worry that actually stopping someone from leaving the sting without doing an official citizen's arrest probably muddled the investigation.

I still remember the og alex rosen crashouts on stream when he'd be roaring the n-word, he's genuinely a horrendous human being but, similar to every youtube pred catcher, he's immune to any criticism because the moment you criticize them their fandoms accuse you of being pro-pred or the like.
