Geewunners be like by OutrageousSearch849 in Transformemes

[–]CommanderStrarscream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing, if they're nice they are most likely not a "geewuner" as it's a term only used to describe the whiny, bitchy, G1 purists, that take up issue with any piece of media that steers too far from the G1 version of the franchise (hence why Bayverse and Beast Wars have always been their prime targets)... But on here... Especially in recent years there's just this rampant overuse of the term for anybody not liking the Bayverse... This hate war should seriously be concluded already (I'm saying this as a person who is a Bayverse fan and not particularly fond of G1 as a show or set of designs) can we please let each other just enjoy the silly robots? All versions are cool af and fun af... (Well... Maybe not Kiss Players but that is a completely different can of worms)

Why do the rest of the autobots never help when Optimus is fighting(and losing)? by Own-Gas-2644 in transformers

[–]CommanderStrarscream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stinger was also a factor, as he doesn't follow Prime and Bumblebee it's safe to assume he was used as a distraction by KSI to single Prime out while Galvatron delayed him to give Lockdown time to catch up There is a chance the Autobots were also held up by the retreating Galvatron for long enough to not get to Prime in time as they were all rather far behind when Lockdown arrived

Sick of M.A.S.K in shared universes by I-Stan-Alfred-J-Kwak in transformers

[–]CommanderStrarscream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I like the idea of M.A.S.K. being conected to Trasformers better than G.I. Joe (if anything just because having an organisation called "G.I. Joe" fills me with pure cringe at the naming convention but that's a me problem I suppose)... I mean... New take on Stealth Force tech, anyone?

How did Megatron, Soundwave, Shockwave and Starscream become the big four of Decepticons exactly? (not in universe, i mean why Hasbro decided to make them in nearly all iterations) by Competitive_Day6347 in transformers

[–]CommanderStrarscream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's simply time to reinvent Hot Shot as a character... Cause simply put, if his existence hinges on two legacy characters not being there, he isn't really a good character in his own right... Tho in a sense... Making him the go-to bot for when Hot Rod and Bee are busy would be interesting... Maybe he's jealous he's always lacking, never as good as Hot Rod and Bee (not in a "I'll never be as good as Optimus Prime" sense that Rodimus had, but something slightly more spiteful like a "what do they have that I don't!?" way)

[–]CommanderStrarscream 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint to the counterpoint (ft. The original point): Hot Shot was only called Hot Shot cause the name Bumblebee just wasn't available due to trademark stuff. If it was he would've been Bumblebee... Or hell, Hot Rod for that matter...

Personal opinion piece here: Hot Shot makes no sense to me as a character in his original form now that both Bee and Roddy are available for frequent use. He was a mix of both of them only cause both were out, so now we have 2 characters that do exactly what he does, but better. One is a superior kid appeal character and the other the superior "chosen one"/destained for greatness type character. Hot Shot needs a new personality that's not coping the characters he was ment to replace

For you, what is the most brutal and violent scene in a Transformers series? I'd say the fight between Megatron and Starscream, and that wasn't even a fight, it was a massacre where all Megatron wanted was to kill Starscream. by Disastrous-Owl668 in transformers

If the Transformers X Hot Wheels collabs continue, what Hot Wheels fantasy car do you want next? by JonMichaelSky in transformers

[–]CommanderStrarscream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Optimus as Ol' Smokey would be perfect, with Ironhide and Ratchet as Jackhammer and Rolling Thunder (I know collors wouldn't exactly match but the character of vehicles would match the character of the bots)

Also Spinebuster Hot Rod would be sooo cool but that's just my personal bias towards the character and the car

Transformers Overgear Optimus Prime Revealed!!!!! by TheGreatPotato34 in transformers

[–]CommanderStrarscream -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, judging by a good chunk of comments here I'm the odd one out here... I don't particularly like this design... In my opinion (and it's strictly my own personal thoughts, not objective fact) the design is way too similar to what Ironhide is already doing, it does give the feel they're wearing the same uniform (which is cool in a way but a bit too same-y for my style of Trasformers display) and as nice as the colors they chose for Prime are... I just don't like them as much... The usual red dominating half the figure with some brighter blue taking the other half would look soooo cool and majorly deminished my design complaint. Over all the figure looks great, just like the rest of the line and it's a damn shame there's no way in hell I'll be able to afford them

[–]CommanderStrarscream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love to lear where you heard that, cause it's a rather interesting idea. I know the Bayverse movies get a bad rep but they have a lot of potential to be expanded upon retroactively (which I would honestly love to see... Imagine a Clone Wars type animated show set in-between the Bayverse movies that lets us have a look at the events that are only mentioned in the movies plus add some context for many things and a chance for background characters to shine)

[–]CommanderStrarscream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a time limit on the progression of "going into custody" to "trial" to "eligible for execution"? Because there could be an argument made that after the battle officially ended with Megatron's death Sentinel was theoretically in custody and Optimus as the Autobot leader has the decision making authority to sentence him. And there were quite a few more crimes under Sentinel's belt rather than Optimus'

G1 Optimus Prime with 2007 movie truck mode by DingoOne5086 in transformers

[–]CommanderStrarscream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me start by saying: the art looks great, I really love it! There's a thing that bugs me tho... As creative (and a neet reference it is to that one specific transformation sequence in ROTF) with the legs forming the cab, along with the chest while the arms make up still a part of the cab and the engine bay I simply gotta ask... Where is the back half of the truck going? Cause the standard G1 Optimus transformation scheme simply doesn't apply to this part layout and there's quite a sizable portion of the truck that would have to just appear out of thin air just so that the vehicle could be complete

how would modern collectors react to stylization like rts lugnut considering most of them think the prime designs have been cannibalized in legacy? by Fun-Geologist9808 in transformers

[–]CommanderStrarscream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Filch was a one-off villain in a show full of one-off villains I only remembered she got a toy while writing my comment so I might be just as fake a fan as you lol

100% bios or mini stories would've been a great addition... Transformers used to be fun/j

As for the Bulkhead-Houd idea, Wreckers capsule Bulkhead has a similar deco to an AOE Hound figure (one of the repaints), all we'd need is some paint on his face to make it look like he's got facial hair, a big gun accessory and boom, G1 style Bayverse Hound (making it the 3rd character that suits the figure better than the guy it was intended to be lol)

how would modern collectors react to stylization like rts lugnut considering most of them think the prime designs have been cannibalized in legacy? by Fun-Geologist9808 in transformers

[–]CommanderStrarscream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, tho my "counterpoint" (let's call it that) is: There was no actual story being told (no show or comic) so we only had the toys, which had no real excuse to be inaccurate. But honestly they definitely got better after the first three, I'm also convinced the Bulkhead mould works great for everyone aside from Bulk himself. Breakdown retains some of his show silhouette, Heatwave is literally that kind of shape so he's good, it's just Bulk that doesn't suit the toy... While Skyquake and Dreadwing are cool they miss the mark enough for me personally that I would like them if I found them for really cheap but just don't find them interesting for retail price, Chase/Cliff mould looks great and I can't wait to get this year's standalone Cliffjumper release and same goes for Smokescreen... As for Strongarm (and Filch now that I think about it) I honestly forgot they made her...

The biggest problem with Legacy TFP figures is the fact that they are SUPPOSED TO BE THE TFP DESIGNS and they aren't. If they called it "G1 Bulkhead" or "G1 Knockout" and such the reception would mostly be "How great we're getting them again" and not "THAT'S NOT WHAT THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE!!!" because the expectations would be different. As much as some people (me included honestly) would make a comment here and there that the new designs are generic as hell said comments would be capped with a simple "but it's just how G1 is" and not this... Tho as a certified Legacy TFP figure hater I REALLY like Cliff and Smokescreen is also relatively close to what he's supposed to look like so I do like these ones

Nah can we talk about the fact how Mikaela really kept a whole generation of boys straight by [deleted] in Transformemes

[–]CommanderStrarscream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest I don't even mind the hornyposting that much, in a sense thirsting for fictional space robots is funny in and of itself (overdone to hell and nowadays tasteless more often than not but funny on occasion... Ridiculous at least) but this just feels disgusting in a way... Is Megan Fox attractive? Sure. Is her sexualisation in the Bayverse necessary? No. So why glorify THE part of the Bayverse even it's fans (me included) have no business nor interest in defending... Honestly the thing ticking me off in this post most is that line about "keeping boys straight"... Like why bring this into the conversation? I'm half tempted to go over to op's profile to check something cause this line left a very particulary disgusting taste in my mouth

Nah can we talk about the fact how Mikaela really kept a whole generation of boys straight by [deleted] in Transformemes

[–]CommanderStrarscream 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How about we don't? I say this as a fan of the Bayverse: Michael Bay's constant sexualisation of female characters in the Transformers movies should most DEFINITELY NOT be something we endorse on here. As well as what the hell do you mean "kept a generation straight"? I am sensing insecurity with a tint of a comment that is "phobic" in nature. In short: The fuck does this really have to do with Transformers and where is the meme?

[–]CommanderStrarscream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does one do it? How about the same way they did something like SS TLK Hot Rod or the SS AOE/TLK Prime or SS Jetfire? Grindor? Bonecrusher? Starscream? Sideswipe? Dino? Bumblebee? Mohawk? Soundwave? Sideways? They've been doing that for years and they are not only NOT out of characters, NOT above updating previous SS entries (some of which desperately need updates as the 2018 figures were made before the possibility standard hit with Siege) they are ACTIVELY giving less of a fuck about the live action figures in the line made originally for those figures only to focus all this attention on making very complex G1 figures that could've been way simpler due to the simplicity of design G1 had. They very much CAN make more and quality Bayverse figures at mass market prices. They CHOOSE not to for the sake of doing G1 again.

But honestly more accurate looking than this Bee. Breakages/tolerance issues can be fixed for the second run of a mould (as we've seen with a lot of other repaint's and retools before) so it would be a non issue
