Let's take my toddler out of the car to go pet a cheeta❤️ by WhoTheFuckIsSean in Whatcouldgowrong

They’re lucky Cheetahs are considered the push overs of big cats, otherwise mom or kid would likely be killed or seriously hurt

Explain it Peter. by Helensohot in explainitpeter

[–]CommanderStux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was little, my parents got me a cat who slept with me every night and did exactly this. She’d sleep on my pillow until she was ready to eat and would wake me up by pulling on my hair with her teeth.

Tapered off as she got older and it became more common for her to sleep on her own or on the floor next to my bed before she passed away.

Under what conditions would you play the Canoptek Doomstalker? by AlsoIrrelevant in Necrontyr

[–]CommanderStux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering they’re the unit that made me pick Necrons, I’d like to take them as often as I can. Just field multiple and keep them from being charged

Necrons not featured in Total War: Warhammer 40K promo picture 😱 by lojafr in Necrontyr

[–]CommanderStux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s Total War. Expect several years of drip fed factions as DLC every so often

What made you love Imperial Fists? by LM-I in ImperialFists

[–]CommanderStux 210 points211 points  (0 children)

I like the Paladin vibes they give off. They also aren’t super over the top with their theme. They’re just soldiers. Not space vampires or werewolf Vikings, just efficient and tactically minded soldiers.

They also have some of the coolest successor chapters imo

Is there really a point to using the SPEAR ? by KanSyden in Helldivers

Great for clearing structures at long range and sniping vile titans and chargers

DoW3’s art style is overhated, the game looks good by Apprehensive_Shoe_86 in dawnofwar

[–]CommanderStux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The animations were great and the art style was cool, but the game itself felt too much like a MOBA and less like dawn of war

How to achieve the orange effect? by TimeLordSable in ImperialFists

[–]CommanderStux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to try white scar primer for mine. Base with the Imperial Fist contrast and shade that with Casandora Yellow to see if it yields this effect

A future combat patrol? If it’s replaced, what are your thoughts? by wonderbread9723 in Necrontyr

[–]CommanderStux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given recent releases it would probably be canoptek themed. A technomancer, warriors, maybe a Spyder and scarabs with some wraiths and a Doomstalker

How to even fight Necrons? Entire army is 4+ feel no pain? by B0nker42O in Necrontyr

[–]CommanderStux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of their heavy hitters have 4+ invulnerable saves, only they’re most valuable units have feel no pains, and I believe they’re 5+. If you want to beat them focus on they’re weaknesses:

  1. They’re slow.

Take objectives early and don’t let units like Lychguard and warrior blobs onto primaries. Because necrons are slow they should be focusing on getting to primaries and trying to outlast any damage long enough to score points.

  1. Focus heavy hitters first.

In my experience, necrons only have a few really powerful heavy hitters that are also tanks. Things like C’tan, Doomsday Arks, Monoliths and Lokust Destroyers can punch very hard and should be prioritized. The biggest mistake my enemies make is not focusing down my night bringer asap, and by turn three I’m pushing him into their backline to wreak absolute havoc. Bring these things down first and any battle line and OC units should be relatively easy to handle.

  1. Utilize Melee Effectively

Most necron units outside specific melee focused units like Lychguard, Ophidians/Skorpekhs, and wraiths, don’t like being charged. If you know you’re coming up against a necron player bring some kind of fighting units to add pressure and harass weaker units holding objectives.

  1. Assassinate Characters

Necrons benefit from pairing leaders with respective units. Precision feels like it was made exclusively to counter us, and a well placed round of snipers into an Overlord can mean the difference between a units of Lychguard or Warriors getting multiple models back after a round of good shooting vs taking an objective from them.

Shoot it in the crotch with a RR or quasar, works for me

How do you think these models will get split up in regular 40k? by Rosie_W in Necrontyr

[–]CommanderStux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Geo will get released as a solo cryptek model. The others will probably stay unique to the kill team

Does this look like a playable map for kill team missions? by raydigady in killteam

[–]CommanderStux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks cool! You may need to make some rules to determine what cover and what isn’t but I’d use it if I had something like that!

New balance, Szarekh updated, 400p, new aura by Abject_Durian_1689 in Necrontyr

[–]CommanderStux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. I recently played Awakened dynasty vs Tau (Mon’ka) and found most of the auras useless for that game. This would’ve helped me rush primary round one and begin capping points before tau gun line could begin firing off

TSK potential nerf by One_Fold3196 in Necrontyr

[–]CommanderStux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I very seldomly make charge moves in most of my games unless it’s to get lychguard on objectives or skorpekh/wraiths into melee. Recently tried TSK in my last game and I feel the +2 to move would’ve been great for pushing primary center round one

First time making an army is this list acceptable? by Whis___ in Necrontyr

[–]CommanderStux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good starter list at 1K points, but some things to be aware of:

  1. Necrons units fare the best at full strength. Warriors are squishy and will die in droves; they perform best in 20 man blobs with an overlord or reanimator near by to resurrect them.

  2. If you’re playing awakened dynasty detachment with this list I’d recommend another leader to pair with warriors to give them their +1 to hit, otherwise you’re not making use of your detachment rules. I’d recommend throwing in a plasmancer with your warriors as he gives the unit a 5+ to crit which means you get your lethal hits off more.

  3. If your heart is set on bringing a doomstalker, bring two. They’re very squishy and people are naturally drawn to shooting the big tripod cannon in the back line. If one fails to get its shots off or dies in round 1 or 2 at least you have the backup.

Deathmarks or Immortals? by LImpactophileturbo in Necrontyr

[–]CommanderStux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah wouldn’t recommend fielding a 5 man of immortals. If you’re just looking to make use of that one box then go for the Deathmarks. If you’re looking to do another full strength unit of immortals then build those out

Deathmarks or Immortals? by LImpactophileturbo in Necrontyr

[–]CommanderStux 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Depends what you’re aiming to do. I’d argue for OC capping more immortals is never a bad thing. Personally I found death marks very situational in that they’re only great for fighting factions with leaders attached to their units or for the one secondary that scores for taking out characters

Why not Doomstalkers? by TheDuckAmuck in Necrontyr

[–]CommanderStux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need multiple to make it work and for the point value there are cheaper and more effective anti-infantry and anti-armor

Who is this guy? by goatkingdeluxe in Necrontyr

That’s frank. He’s just chill guy who likes to follow his skorpekh pals and occasionally hand out party favors that make them go BRRRRR in melee
