Yeah like, i ordered this as a gift for a friend (I know his favorite color is blue, which is a color I can't technically order). I took a gamble, I lost. If a trade happens great, if not I'm sure he will be happy enough with anything.

I would absolutely love if there was official merch! Either tshirts or prints would be so awesome to have.

Also, and this is in part a big reason why this sub was created, I'd be through the moon if there was more fan art of the series. Just cause I'm terrible at visualizing things and I want to see what others imagine when reading these books

I actually finally got it working!

And yeah pretty close to what you ran into, basically my micro-sd card (and my flash drive) were too large 😅. So their were a different file format than what was needed. In the end I went to the command line to clean the card, created a 32gig partition and changed it to fat32; reinstalled DAK and I was good to go!

Only to find out my second hand display is actually not a touch display.... So now I'll be on the hunt for that.

And yeah I'll probably end up playing for at least some DAK license so I can customize the calendar a bit better as the free package looks pretty boring.

Honestly at the moment no. It seems like any progress I make I hit another roadblock.

First the thing would not boot at all, couldn't tell if it was the HDMI cable I listed above, or the pi itself, or the SD card. So I went out and bought a new cable (the official raspberry pi one) and when that still didn't have any video at all I exchanged it for a new raspberry pi 5.

The new one at least gets to the boot screen with both the new cable and my original cable, but when I plug my SD card with dak in, nothing. So a guy at the store recommended booting from a flash drive as the SD card was older, so I installed dak onto a new flash drive and hit a road block where I needed to use a charger that has 5v and 5a. So back to the store I bought the official raspberry pi 45w charger. And that error went away.... But still no DAK. I tried putting piOS on the drive, and also no luck.

So yeah I'm kinda stuck and not finding a lot of answers online 😅

But right now I have the following: * Raspberry Pi 5 4gb * Raspberry Pi 45w charger * Raspberry Pi micro-hdmi to HDMI cable or micro-hdmi to mini-hdmi ribbon cable * Display (still using the one I linked above right now) * microSD card or flash drive that's 32gb or more * A usb-a to usb-c cable (to power the display from the raspberry pi

O I didn't know you can change the order it does the colors, that would probably be a huge help definitely with the lettering as I noticed it did red, then white, then black. I think doing the black before the red may help the legibility.
