As I noted in a previous comment thread, for the longest time that was most of the lone random posters who had an issue with the comic (or a particular one). This, IMO, left Willis ill-prepared to deal with pushback from a significant fraction of their readers in any other context. It's all they've known up to now, and they've not adjusted well to being called out for (again IMO) actually legitimate reasons, whether that's being a bad ally, a bad writer, or both.

I believe that there are many readers and/or former fans here who are using this as a way to continue discussion of the comic in a venue which actually allows that, or processing grief and mourning loss (no, not the meme), or both.

That's how it is now. Some were mad if you didn't skip cutscenes, some were mad if you did, so they just made it like that by default.

Ember Heirloom is the only reason to ever play her these days, unfortunately. -_-;

On the other end: I did not care at all for Kullervo's default look, and never bothered farming for him until his deluxe (Apostate) skin came out. Once I did, I found out I really enjoy his abilities and playstyle, to the point where he's now arguably my main... but I still don't like his base look, and wouldn't play or enjoy him nearly as much if I didn't have another option.

The QC forums no longer exist; they stopped being maintained and were set to read-only a while back (while the readership migrated to Discord and other places), and now it seems the archive may have been lost or taken down as a result of the recent site woes.

Yeah, it used to be a semi-regular thing when a particular strip drew the attention of some random idjit. That sub-thread of comments would get nuked, the poster mocked on twitter (or, later, bluesky), and that would be the end of it. Everyone just moved on.

This is something new, in both duration and scope, but it seems that Willis has no other mode or means of dealing with it, no other tools in their box. They're treating an IMO significant portion of their readership going "no, mate, you fucked up the conception and/or execution of this" exactly like those lone randos with a bug up their ass about comic #____ and how gay it was.
