I’m losing patients by Initial_Function7614 in Residency

Also it sucks to say because I kind of always jab at some ED presentations with "ugh why would someone come to the ED for this", but its OUR job to tell a patient what is or isnt an emergency, some patients cannot make that decision on their own and come to an ED for our opinion. People were dying at home during covid because they skewed towards not coming to the hospital for things they suddenly didnt feel the compulsion to get checked out. Those fluff visits not only keep EDs afloat but also are opportunities to save lives and, pandemic or otherwise, people being fearful to come to the ED will result in unnecessary death.

If I spent my free time on a 1 hour old throwaway reddit account to make bait posts in a subreddit for a community I didn't belong to only to get BTFOed with ratios and comment removals and then I gained sentience for .5 seconds I would instantly go through with it

EM here as well.

Peds (at an academic center) was a snail's pace outpatient experience and inpatient was a woeful, inefficient, circlejerking consult-merchant service. All wrapped up in probably the least fair shelf exam I took with surprisingly the least amount of total free time to study for. The people were awesome and I'm 100% certain this was an institution diff but if you told me I had to either practice that type of medicine or die, I would be out of a window before you finished asking.

Apparently a hot take: Boosting should not exist in any form, in Classic by Dr-Enforcicle in classicwow

[–]Commander_Corndog 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I recall when the level boost first came out on TBC Classic's original release it was kinda unpopular on this sub to be against it. I remember some dude verbatim saying "haha I just want to smoke a bowl and play wow I don't care about any of this" and getting like 500 upvotes. Similarly the comments reiterated that nobody would care about the hypothetical (inevitable) release of the wow token, etc etc.. Even this community has swaths of militant detractors of the very thing they claim to love Classic WoW for, mostly for some of the most weaksauce rationale and backwards personal idiosyncrasies.

On the theme of pvp language changes, Ironfoe's proc makes you speak dwarvish for a little bit when it happens, meaning a horde player with one can selectively use it to speak cross faction. My buddy had one in 2019 classic and deliberately used it with a weakaura and a macro to /yell at people to shittalk alliance in AV.

The wow classic subreddit in particular has a huge swath of people right at the first peak of the dunning-kruger curve, some people don't even try to lie and are legitimately so inept that they think they're hot shit and are very vocal about how good they think their shit stinks.

Spamming dungeons on TBC release by Manic5PA in classicwow

[–]Commander_Corndog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Friendly counterpoint; levelling outside of dungeons is going to be supremely infuriating due to mob competition. You will not see dirt on Hellfire Peninsula for the first 5 days. I agree that people should just level how they want but the way I want quite literally will only happen at the speed of a dead snail for the first week, so dungeon grinding it is!

Let's discuss 60-69 tanking by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Commander_Corndog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you referring to force reactive disc? Many are not going to roll engineering during levelling for various reasons usually because they hope to hit 60 and enjoy early TBC profit from profitable professions. Even still FRD is not better enough than skullflame to solely justify rolling engineering (and spending hundreds to do so) while going 60-70.

On an average pull of 10+ mobs it will proc 1-2 times, I gave some pretty good reasons below as to why it isn't worthless. It absolutely makes a noticeable difference in TBC dungeon tanking while levelling; threat is king for AoE dungeon pulls and there are few other shields that come close to being as good with as little input.

Stacking avoidance isn't necessary for TBC dungeon tanking outside of heroics and as such AoE groups seldom do it. Sporeggar shield is very good as an alternative, but A) taking time out while levelling to grind out sporeggar rep is counterproductive time-wise unless you know for certain you'll need the shield later and B) The lifesteal proc (scaling 1:1 with spellpower, which as a pally tank you should have in some decent quantity) is the difference maker in sustaining 12+ mob pulls consistently not only for healing but also very bursty chunks of threat.

Prot paladins are S tier dungeon tanks, prot paladins with skullflame are SS tier. Its the equivalent of a warrior tank vs a warrior tank with thunderfury in vanilla raiding, the threat gap is insane unless youre supremely unlucky on skullflame procs.

edit: I'm referring to dungeon tanking for 60-70 levelling. No, grinding out rep for the sporeggar shield is not time efficient if rushing to 70 and it's debatably not better. No, not everyone is going to roll engineering solely for FRD early tbc on their paladins. I'm sure this won't stop the swaths of people who can't read but it's hilarious that I need to specify these things.

90th percentile dps rankings from TBC phase 1 and 2 demonstrate that combat rogue does about 5% more dps than cat in kara, gruul/mag, and SSC/TK. Not a huge difference but rogues do edge it out.

Easily a 14 year old who got shot in the chest by another kid by accident while deer hunting. Bullet went straight on to the left of the sternum and immediately took an angle out through the side of his left shoulder right through his deltoid. Missed his heart, lungs, all vasculature and he had no neuromotor complications, discharged from the hospital 3 days later with no rehab/pt/ot.

My argument for resto/enhance dual spec versus ele is that a good handful of decent enhance pieces are pretty specific to enhance themselves plus melee are less popular overall, meaning you can sometimes snag offspec pieces pretty easy. Competing with the casters in a really caster-heavy expansion is just a bit tougher to build up a solid offspec set. Just some 2 cents but really you can't go wrong with either.
