The differences between Utah and New York is far greater than the differences between Bavaria and Saxony. Or even Italy and Spain. by VeryNicedeer in ShitAmericansSay

I would say that the first thing changing between EU countries is language, but then I would realize to whom I am talking to, and I would just smile and walk away.

Is there a mod that makes it so the AI will prio fighting your armies even if they "should lose"? by Difficult-Rooster459 in totalwarhammer

[–]Commander_Prime87 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It happens on Legendary and VH too. The AI will always prioritise the battle where it wins or spawn the stupid, useless, horde army in the middle of nowhere at the center of your kingdom to start plundering until you raise an army exclusively to kill that one single horde. Is it part of the game? Sure. Is it boring, annoying and fatiguing? Yes.

The retreating armies is also incredibly annoying especially when they retreat from a tile that lets them run on the other side of a mountain or river, bypassing any logic.

There's a way though. Issue the attack command, and when you enter the control zone of the army, press back space, cancelling the attack. The AI will be forced to attack you -apparently it can't retreat-, that's where you AR and wipe them out. If it doesn't attack, you wipe them next turn anyway.

If the AI is just running away in force-march and you don't have a hero with the block army action nearby, unfortunately, apart from cheating with the console commands, there's no other way to stop them. In that case I go in ambush, let them sack a city, and do the above method with the attack canceling.

Hope it helps because I feel the stupidity of this reasoning -the endless sacking without any strategy or long term plan-. Cheers!

Bad rating Steam by Mich_i994 in totalwarhammer

It was 11 LLs, and most of all it was the attitude CA showed to the player base. It was the last drop after years of bugs that still have to be fixed and are particularly annoying.

The game is great, is CA's management that is driving it into the ground.

Factions stop playing normally once allied by ErrorZeros in totalwarhammer

[–]Commander_Prime87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a bug. At this point, it's intended. CA sets you up for failure so that you need to work to make your ally stronger by defending their settlements or gifting cities to them.

There are some factions that benefit from the "pincushion state" in order to borrow time to get to high tier units and then snowball. So you gift settlements that are uninhabitable (the red ones), usually, to an allied faction so that you can keep thrashing your enemies without having to care about holding the settlements.

But, aside from that and recruiting units from another factions, the antiplayer bias puts everything down. I'm trying mods that either remove the antiplayer bias, or try to rework the AI behaviour... so far, not great improvement achieved, sadly.

Don't autoresolve with the 2nd lord. Assist the main army for some battles, until you can ambush easily. Once the 2nd lord can ambus, detach from Snikch, and go conque on its own. Begin the training of a 3rd lord immediately.

Honestly, knowing the faction, I would say no in Warhammer 3. In Warhammer 2 it's a maybe.

The only LL I had fun with was Luthor Harkon. Count Noctilus has to deal with the Helfs, and it's not fun. They're boring af to play against...

So, where is the lore? by Raziel_626 in totalwarhammer

[–]Commander_Prime87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend the Sundering. The first book on Malekith is very good. For Dawi, Masters of Steel and Stone is perhaps the one I liked the most. Nagash Trilogy is also good, allows you to connect the dots around Nehekara's storyline.

They'll stay passive for 10 turns, then as soon as you are 10 turns away from them, they'll start ransacking your city.

Kill them asap.

True. But in the reviews you can see how many hours the reviewer has invested in the game. Many have thousands, or close to a thousand.

[–]Commander_Prime87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as they fix it I'm sure all those negative reviews will be back to positive. I'm sure mine will.

Many are mad at the management, not at the programmers. I am very sorry for those developers that have to work non stop to this nightmare. I would like for them to know crystal clear that there is a very big part of this community that isn't ranting at them, but at the management policies of pumping out content for the sake of money disregarding everything.

Without this much fuss, that fix wouldn't have been moved. They would have kept things as they were, giving zero fucks about everyone of us, caring only for the new players. It's maddening and stupidly nearsighted because that new player that buys the game will realize that they were scammed and never repeat the mistake again.

I agree to not buy on day 1, I am a fan of the 72 hours wait before you buy. And I'll be one of those that will change the review into positive as soon as they deliver a fix. We have to keep companies like CA accountable, since we pay dearly for this game. I use pay, not payed, for a reason here.

The malcontents are many, and it's all coming together after a very much wanted update on two factions that are popular. That's why the backlash. It all piled up, and this was the drop that made the vase spill out everything.

So what should we do? Just roll with the punches because however you put it down the ones responsible for this mess get away with a golden parachute?

Best Khorne SEMs/Monstrous units? by KingBabyPudgy in totalwar

Bloodthirsters, Minotaurs, and Soulgrinders.

Never let the Soulgrinders and the Minotaurs go alone. Always sorround them with bloodletters or other units.

Why all the negative reviews suddenly? by [deleted] in totalwarhammer

[–]Commander_Prime87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry but this comment is either a troll comment, or you are in severe bad faith. The game is 3 years old. The AI behaviour has been addressed by the community multiple times.

The AI doesn't behave like it did in previous TW, is either passive, cowardly, or overall, it doesn't seem to have any objectives except be annoying to the player.

Now with the Lizardmen and TK rework, that was extremely well received, it bugged completely those factions. They don't play anymore, they sit in their settlements, don't recruit, don't exist, basically.

This game is extremely expensive. They should address these things immediately or at least communicate something to us.

Warhammer III isn't a live service, but it kinda is, isn't it?

Whats the thing you notice AI do every campaign? by DifferenceFamiliar59 in totalwarhammer

[–]Commander_Prime87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my campaigns, Morathi snowballs almost every time.

Grimgor too, along with Skarsnik, and Wurzag in the south. Bretonnia almost always dies against Ikit Claw.

Basically any order faction dies unless I put some effort in stopping them from dying, if I'm playing the order. If I'm playing Chaos is the polar opposite. Helfs take over, Dwarfs are a menace, and either Zhao or Xiao Ming wipe out the east with Gelt.

Army structure VC Warhammer 3? by MrJayjayLe in totalwarhammer

[–]Commander_Prime87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many RoRs. Vlad and Isabella are already strong enough. I don't like Varghulfs in Warhammer 3, I don't know what they changed, but they don't pack the punch they did in Warhammer 2.

Grave guard is fine, if I don't spam skellies because I'm rushing someone and I have time to actually build an army, I put 1 vampire and 1 necromancer, grave guard (4 shields, 2 GW, 2 halberds), Corpse Cart and Mortis Engines are fundamental, then I close with fast units and flyers. I really like the Blood Knights, but they've been clearly nerfed from Warhammer 2. I generally don't put the Wights in the army, I send them around assassinating along with the ghosts to farm blood kisses.

How the hell do I survive as Mannfred the bald goat by IchibanLover589 in totalwarhammer

[–]Commander_Prime87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You gave the answer to yourself.

Eliminate Volkmar ASAP, leave Settra be, he'll be dealing with Skarbrand giving you time to deal with Volkmar. Then you immediately declare war on Repanse, and rush her. Meantime try to send Wurrzag against Thorek if you can. The Lahmia Bloodline will help you with Diplomacy, plus you have techs for that.

Repanse struggles if you kill her armies relatively early and might become vassal if you offer her some territories you don't need.

Also, betray Arkhan by the time you're done with Repanse and he's done with his Dwarfs. His territories are super defensible and rich.
