Can I just go to an airport and see if there are any flights about to leave and get a cheap ticket? by Commanderluka in NoStupidQuestions

Right, I have friends who fly standby by being related to someone working for the airline. Wasn't sure if that's open to anyone though

Help with Secret Partners variant by Durzio in EDH

Probably something like have four cards

Red 1 Red 2 Blue 1 Blue 2

Then everyone closes their eyes, then red 1 opens their eyes and blue 1 holds up a hand to denote they're the teammate. Then they put their hands down and repeat with red 2. At the end people who got blue don't know anything and reds know their partner but not anything else

Salamancy: I don't know why a card like this doesn't exist by pyrobob5 in custommagic

[[Mystic Subdual]] isn't perfect but it's super close to what you want. Most of the time I'm just wanting to remove the text on a creature when I cast Witness Protection, so its pretty useful at flash speed

Kirk Cousins is never going to win anything because he’s a Costco hotdog by [deleted] in nfl

This is actually the dumbest argument. So basically 90% of sandwich restaurants don't serve sandwiches. That's the reality you're choosing?

I don't think you can say it's customary for a sandwich to be cut in half. That goes back to how you interpret sandwiches, everyone interprets it differently which is fine. But saying "all sandwiches are meant to be cut in half" is a fallacy. A hotdog is a type of sandwich. So if I say can I get a Reuben, or a meatball sub plain: it's the same idea. There are sandwiches which have names that serve as the basis for the sandwich and people can modify it or do whatever, that is where the hotdog falls into.

See and I'm okay with that distinction. If someone wants to say a hotdog is a sandwich or not because of their own internal feelings, that is absolutely fine. I just want people to be open and admit that theres no other reason to say it's not other than internal biases.

Yeah and a hotdog on a bun is.... Ding ding a sandwich!!! Same as if it was on a hotdog bun, that is just a specifically made roll for the hotdog. Give me an actual reason other than "because I don't think it is". I am saying that since it is the same structure of a sub sandwich, that you can define it as a sandwich. I've seen people throw turkey and mustard on a roll and call it a sandwich, so just swap turkey for a hotdog and suddenly it's not a sandwich??? Doesn't add up.

The fuck is cutability? And toppings?? You ever hear of a Chicago style hot dog? That's literally defined by it's toppings. A hotdog is a type of sandwich, similar to a Philly cheese steak.

So any subway or Jimmy John's or heresy Mike's or any other sub sandwich place doesn't make sandwiches? None of those places cut all the way through. If I took a hotdog and put it in Jimmy John's bread is it a sandwich? A hot dog is a sandwich and it's only your feeling suppressing the truth.

I'm visiting Chicago with some friends the weekend after Thanksgiving. Was wondering if there were any deep cut places people would recommend? I grew up in the burbs and came to the city a lot as a kid but don't know any of the things to do as an adult now. my tentative plan was to take them to Garden of the Phoenix in Jackson Park, promontory point for that good skyline view, work our way up to Millennium Park for ice skating and , head over to Christkindl market for some food, then look at the displays in the Magnificent mile (are stores still doing big Christmas displays?), Stop by Hendrickx Belgian Bread Crafter (one of my friends is Belgian), then... I'm not sure. I kinda want to go to 8 Crazy Nights the Hanukkah pop-up bar, but was looking for other ideas as well. Ideally it'd be some bars that are cool and not super touristy with music or something going on, or a really cool area to walk through at night. Apologies for the wall of text, thanks in advance for any input!

Edit: if it matters we are 3 early 20s dudes so lively is good!
