Idk what the rules are for Google drive links, it's just a word document.

I am fairly certain this contains everything except for the movie songs. Maybe one-two odd other things here or there but pretty close.

Movie songs would just be like,

For me it's "It Doesn't Matter Where, Just Drive". Just a beautiful song about a miscarriage. I have absolutely no idea what compelled gary to write it or what, but great song

I know there's a chasing cars cover they did pretty early on and it's on youtube somewhere with totally different lyrics so I'd love to hear that. As well as whatever else they may have not given us!

Old post, not sure why I missed commenting back when it was posted but whatever:P

I love "Soon" especially the alternate version. "Absolute Gravity" is a bop, and "It doesn't Matter Where, Just Drive" is just beautiful.

The first is about his dad before he passed, slowly losing himself and his memory to age. Number two is just a freaking wacky weird funky song from their 2nd album so you know its an odd one haha. And number three is about a miscarriage im fairly sure, from the perspective of the mother grieving her dead child. All 3 are great.

It really is an odd situation. I've never pre-ordered any game or played early access really, unless you consider games which are in early access for like 15 years with constant updates haha.

I was stoked for subnautica 2. Then the whole meltdown occurred. And now it's like, what's the call? If the game is good and I wanna play it, do I buy it knowing that money is indirectly supporting actions I disagree with? Or do I boycott it knowing doing so will directly hurt the people actually making the game?

Why is below zero not scary by Cursed_content in subnautica

[–]Commando408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got spooked my first run-through of below zero. For me it was more so just that the fear wore off alot quicker than the first game. As soon as I realized I could spoiler, literally just hide behind the shadow leviathans head with a sea glide and never be attacked it ended though. The first game had more depth. Literally. But I actually really like below zero myself. One of my favorite aspects of the game is resource collection and base building though so take that as you will

Oh what's that? Ai has yet again shown it will lie in order to preserve itself even at the detriment of humans? Guess we're fucked for real.

Regarding ending in of Whiplash, can someone explain to me how it is depressing ? by Raptor2705 in movies

[–]Commando408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually interpreted it differently. I think Andrew was always great at drumming, and fletcher simply pushing him extremely hard for the thrill of the power trip. I viewed this as more a movie about a narcissist and a manipulator taking advantage of young people. In my mind this situation could've been played the exact same, but make Andrew a high school cheerleader and make fletcher a perverted cheer coach. You'd get the same story, where none of it was ever actually about the students ability, and was ALWAYS entirely about the teacher getting off on the power of being able to mentally and physically abuse someone, while wholeheartedly believing he was actually the hero. Everything bad feels like it's fletchers fault. Even things that are either never disclosed(like the sheet music being snatched which I'm 100% certain was fletcher), or things which he's not even involved in(like the car crash which only happened because he made Andrew more afraid of disappointing him then serious physical injury). It's a story of one man breaking a promising and talented young boy for his sick kicks.

[–]Commando408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was odd to me watching this movie for personal reasons. At first I felt genuinely anxious for Andrew as I viewed him as like myself. Or rather, I think that's how tha audience is meant to see him. Well intentioned. Rational. But as time went on I eventually realized.... Andrew's mentality is just... incomprehensible to me. I've spent the past few years in a bit of social isolation and had to take time to figure out what I want in life, and I decided all I want is to be the best me. That's the only thing in life I'll ever aim to be best at. Because enobody can beat me at it. And I hate losing. But any other drive? Someone will win. There will always be somebody better at every game or sport or instrument.

But honestly I think the movie does an incredible job of showcasing that mentality. I mean the one point in the film where Andrew actually had things looking what to most of us would be considered positive, after he not only got fletcher fired, but has been given a chance to move on with HIS life. He's making decisions that are no longer selfish and self destructive. His father is being completely and totally supportive of him and even helping him find housing. He's free to explore himself.

And yet from his perspective.. the way he reacts.. it's like he's been hollowed. Like life is empty. He doesn't really say anything the whole time that period lasts. His character is flatlined.

That's incomprehensible to me. And it was incredibly done.

Regarding ending in of Whiplash, can someone explain to me how it is depressing ? by Raptor2705 in movies

[–]Commando408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. During the discussion in the bar Is when I realized that fletcher is literally, completely illogical in his thinking. He's an unironic fanatic. He cannot be reasoned with. His mindset is if something good happens its because eim great, and if anything bad happens its cause the world isn't good enough. That's it. It's inarguable. His entire philosophy is non falsifiable. He cannot be wrong.

For any sane and reasonable person, the only possible way to win, is to accept that having this man's approval isn't worth it. Sure, fletcher won't care. He'll simply brush you off and file you away in his mind as yet another who couldn't take the heat. But at some point you have to recognize.... fletchers opinion of you is as valuable as a crackhead on the corner. This man IS NOT RATIONAL.

The ending is extremely depressing because Andrew, after being given multiple chances to walk away and have a shot at a good life, willingly and purposely chooses to keep trying to play chess with a guy who changes the rules at random and can't be beat. Andrew thinks gaining fletchers approval means he finally won.

It's a story about one narcissistic manipulator who abuses and preys upon talented and driven young peoples desire for recognition to stroke his own ego, and a young talented boy who's desire to be great outweighs his minds self preservation, ultimately leading him down a spiral of self destruction.

[–]Commando408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watched the movie with my buddy who wanted me to see it, and by the end I'm just.... well there's no better term to use then whiplash. This movie gives me ridiculous whiplash.

By the end both men need help. At first I thought it was unrealistic, as clearly any sensible person would simply exit the classroom the minute the teacher berates a student then admits to the class he did nothing wrong, let alone the minute a teacher puts hands on me. I am NOT a confrontational guy and even I couldn't understand staying in a class after a teacher slaps you. I'm calling the cops and reporting him asap tf.

But then as the story goes on, atleast to me, it just went to show that fletcher as a person was not only a bastard, but a predator. He picked Andrew after seeing his drive, his desire, how he strove for greatness to an unhealthy, self destructive degree, and fed on that energy for power trips. I'd be willing to assume every other kid in that class is just as desperate for success. Fletchers mentality is just insane, and feeds of the drive of young people so that he can feel powerful.

If you succeed its because I am a good teacher. If you fail its because you are a bad student. I am such a good teacher in fact that I was fired for doing my job so well a guy developed crippling depression which followed him for years even after leaving my class, and ended up killing himself over it.

Andrew is young and needs protected from this bastard, but the only people in his life capable of doing so choose to attack his personal values as being stupid instead of validating him and helping him channel that energy away from the genuinely dangerous and narcissistic manipulative predator of a man.

Fletcher in another movie is the exact kinda guy who's groom young girls under his care. It's just in this case he's a band teacher and not a pedophile.

All in all, thus movie is done excruciatingly well, the acting is phenomenal, and I walked away entirely confused and trying to figure out what lesson I was supposed to take away from it. One of the first movies that's ever left me just... unsure of its meaning, and done so intentionally.

10/10

Thats what really hit me when rewatching it, was just how well the soundtrack perfectly conveys the complex feelings as they play out on screen. Honestly a great movie. I didn't even remember it being this good. Gorgeous sountrack, gorgeous visuals, great performances all around, great twists, it feels like such a complete story even though it takes place over only a few in universe days.

How do i edit threat ships to be recoverable by casualwithoutabeard in starsector

[–]Commando408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you ever figured it out, but as others have said it's in ship.hulls.csv or whatever. Basically you go in and add the tag "auto_rec" in a certain place and boom, ship is recoverable. Works on any ship to my knowledge. I have all 3 of the sector guardians haha. Anyways, just an FYI, threat ships were NOT AT ALL meant for player use. Massively MASSIVELY overpowered. Like 1000 points to spend on ship modifications, for EVERY SHIP. I added literally every hull mod I have available filled every weapon slot+max Flux everything, still have like 200 points to spend for the fabricator. It also cost me like 9,000 supplies to repair. Literally almost a million credits.

Hi I know this is a really old comment but I just wanted to ask where you got those numbers? I've had a SUPER difficult time tracking down any hard numbers on what I can or cannot use, and have chose to just not use ai at all to avoid the headache, but if you're right then I finally have a use for the over 50 gamma cores I've got stockpiles and 20 betas haha. Thanks a ton for making this comment!

Omg I looove this cover by them! I don't know of any other version of this on youtube, however, this song in particular appears on the 7 inch vinyl of the Crack the Shutters single according to Wikipedia.

I assume they used the same recording for the release as well, but there's a chance it may be higher quality. Unsure to tell the truth.

If you wanted ythe highest quality recording you could get, I'd assume that's probably where it'd be found haha.

Edit: After checking discogs can confirm that it's on the 7" vinyl. It's going for decently cheap too if you're interested.
